Actually I feel she expects more from him. Whilst jo never expected him to be anything but himself Amy was always the one pushing him to be better, she was critical of his choices whilst jo (Can also see she has a lot of pride and couldn't take criticism and loses her temper sometimes) just reinforces his own vanity. She had her own views on "freedom" and how she won't marry and be "free". Laurie always was that way too they reinforced each other - he didn't want to be the serious businessman his grandfather was an constantly ran from obligation and partied his way through Europe when he got rejected. But Amy always expected more form him. She sees his potential and is jealous in her own way that he can be anything hr wants but she can't. She tries to push him to be better because he can do things she couldn't. And in the end it was better for everyone cos Amy believed in love again. Laurie matures and settles down. Jo realised she wants love too but still manages to achieve her dreams

@@KoiYakultGreenTea Jo doesn't believe he can be more than he is. Amy sees that he can stop being lazy and become a better, more mature person. And Laurie (in the book) does the same for her. They make each other better. Jo doesn't believe in anyone but herself, at least in the book. I couldn't bring myself to watch this version.

She's a great actress, but not right for this role. She sounds like his grandmother with that voice.
