The coaster and clear card you couldn’t name was Yakumo, my fav! 😭😭😭 An explanation why Rei doesn’t have a first anniversary stand is bc he wasn’t introduced until after the first anniversary- In an inperson and livestreamed event they revealed a character silhouette at the end which turned out to be Rei! The parfait you had was a reference to an event called “Rainy Season”, it’s a much more lighthearted event than “Chimes of Darkness” with the animal mascots being able to talk and a surprising amount of world building! And to help differentiate Blade and Rei: Blade’s bangs/fringe tend to cover his eyes, Rei has a lot of moles, Blade tends to expose his chest area while Rei tends to expose his midriff And thank you for filming and sharing your experience! I absolutely adore this game and not being able to attend these events kill me;;: but being able to watch these vlogs and experience vicariously really help alleviate my fomo 😭

Yikes! I didn't address Yakumo by name at all in this video hahaha! Luka and Hands (who made this video possible) do like Yakumo, and all the characters in fact! Just not as much as others such as Olivine, Morvay and Blade ;) I didn't know that Rei was a newer character from last year's anniversary cafe, but that explains his lack of merch from last time! I think it's so cool that all the menu items were linked to previous events of the game. That attention to detail makes this cafe really special for the core fans! Too bad some of those subtleties were wasted on me, hahaha! I think I've mastered the differences between Rei and Blade now! Didn't want anyone slamming me for making so many mistakes, I learnt the hard way!! Thank you so much!! The response from the Nu Carnival Cafe last year was possibly the largest I've ever had for an anime cafe visit, so I knew if another cafe was held for the 2nd anniversary of the game I would return. Biggest thanks goes to Luka and Hands who choose out the menu and make it possible for me! I always have a good time at the anime cafes, but going on my own is always a bit awkward. Making these videos makes me feel I'm with someone so I can chat and explain how I'm feeling as I go. Then I can share the limited cafes with people from around the world who would never be able to see them otherwise, so it's win-win! I felt so humilated with the Rei and Blade confusion, hahah! I'm glad to hear you were laughing about it. When I visit the second half of this cafe's run next week the menu will be different! I will get Olivine's KIWI drink (Kiwi represent!!!) and Blade's lychee drink for sure! Haven't decided the rest of the menu yet!

16:48 the test scroll is a quiz, there was one in the game a while back. If you get it right, you get gems (in-game currency). Not sure what you get in the cafe tho. Probably it's just a fun activity with no real reward. The first question seems to be about the klein kingdom and the second one is character specific.

wahhhh that was so wholesome omg 😭😭 i really loved seeing your reactions to everything and how excited you were on your friends' behalf 🥺 it's so funny that kuya's drink was so mild (or maybe _delicate_ is a better word) bc that old man doesn't like "overly sweet concoctions" lmao. he's more the kind to drink herbal teas and matcha etc also i'm sure you've been told a million times already how to tell blade and rei apart but i have yet to read a very simple explanation so: blade is a cutesy character (soft pastel colors, a bright smile, quirky poses) rei is a more edgy character (eyebrow slit, small sharp eyes, gem turned into an ear piercing) what makes blade so endearing is that he's an assassin puppet - hence the sharp teeth and the name blade - but he's grown to like cute and silly things. he has a super fluffy vibe and spreads an almost child-like joy wherever he goes. and rei is super appealing bc he appears so cool and mysterious, almost ominous, does all these sketchy experiments, he's lowkey rude, has a deep voice, is taller and broader than eiden, but then it turns out he's uhhhh how do i put this gently. a walking hole.

I will never have the opportunity to visit this cafe so it was great to live vicariously through you for a few minutes. I love "NU: Carnival" too! But animate cafe rules prohibit video recording in the store, but was there any warning from the staff? The FAQ on the official animate cafe website clearly states that video recording is prohibited.

That's true..! Only after making this video and editing did I see a big no filming sign on the front door of the Cafe, oh no!! 🚫🎥 I've never been told not to film, staff even cleared my plates or glasses and were smiling while I was recording. One time at the Animate "Hisoka cafe" a staff member when playing a card game with me (for Hisoka's gambling drink) only said "don't record me, but you can record" I think the rule is not strong, but they don't want you to film other guests or disturb people from having fun. I try not to be too loud or film other people's faces. 😊 Only one time in Tokyo at the Chugai Grace Cafe I was told to stop filming, and this video I didn't put public on KZbin 😔 I hope I don't get into trouble for sharing these videos, its for all the people who can't come to Japan and experience them before they're gone forever.

Sorry it's all in Japanese. www.animatecafe.jp/ Nu Carnival released in late February I believe, so the anniversary cafe has been around that time these past two years.
