@lauriexwang what would be your advice to someone thinking of signing up for a digital marketing certificate program? Are they beneficial? Will the completion of a certificate program alone set you up for decent jobs or does one need a 4 year marketing degree? Thanks for any info

I think the key is to learn from the latest in the industry, and especially from someone who practices the tactics and strategies daily. So if you can check that the certificate program fits in this criteria. I think a marketing degree definitely helps but it's not required, I didn't have a marketing degree but studied economics instead, the ability to be adaptable and think creatively is more important to employers, so make sure to highlight that in your applications. What I would like to share in this journey is that real-world experience is just as important as a degree and if you can get that experience as early as possible, and build relationships in the industry by going to events, talking to current marketers, informational interviews, are all going to help you build a career in this area.
