It's the Apollo, people are actually there to be entertained, and amateurs go there to *actually* get their mettle honestly tested. She was off key for a couple of bars in the beginning, that's not entertaining, it's just a pain to listen to. Thankfully, she finds where she's going to be and the audience forgives her. I don't know how Lauryn Hill felt about this, but I'd actually be surprised if she didn't know what she was getting herself into.

No matter what keep pressing on. There are going to be people who talk down on your dreams and goals, and boo you, But keep going, go harder because in the end they are going to be the same ones, hanging at your coat tail, trying to be apart of your circle. I could understand if they boo'd for someone who was mature. I think even if they are hard they should be considerate for singers who were below the age of 18...they were KIDS for f*ck sake going through puberty. Don't those assholes know that puberty changes your voice, and you have difficulties singing during that time? :P Even if we don't talk of puberty, sheer nervousness gets even veterans sweat down, think of kids. Ignasi Martí Palet Better than Michael Jackson really? first off they are both amazing vocalists. But have you ever listen to Michal Jackson with just his voice no music. There are countless videos of them on KZbin. That man was a vocal God. He had one of the most versatile voices in music. No one can match his power the way he can sing a song with a sultry smooth voice than get rough like on Morphine. All his vocal harmonies that he did himself. The grace, the aggression, the growling, the natural boyishness, the falsetto, the smoothness-that combination of elements mark him as a major vocalist that can never be beat.
