Lyrics:
Ex-Factor
What is meant to be, will be
After winter, must come spring
Change, it comes eventually
I wrote these words for everyone
Who struggles in their youth
Who won't accept deception
Instead of what is truth
It seems we lose the game,
Before we even start to play
Who made these rules? We're so confused
Easily led astray
Let me tell ya that
Ex-Factor
Ex-Factor
After winter, must come spring
Ex-Factor

I don’t understand why people are complaining about the fact that a bunch of people were brought here because of Drake. Some of us are part of the younger generation and didn’t get to experience this music but we can’t help that. If anything you should be happy that we’ve been given the chance to do just that and be able to understand the passion and perfection that is Lauryn Hill.

She explained a toxic relationship to the tee. I've been in this situation too many times. Thinking we're making progress and being shot down to be told it's not working. And then every time i was ready to end it, this person would jump every obstacle and climb every mountain to get me to stay. It took me 7 years to get out of the situation for good and this song just sends me back every time i hear it.

You let go and I let go too. Maybe that's what GOD wants of Us. If We let go, We can truly embrace God's Presence. I'm created in GOD's Image but I know for a fact that GOD wants me to learn important lessons that only He can provide. When people come into Our Lives they must be Vetted and truly understood. Many people talk the talk but don't walk the True Path that Christ layed before us. Its ultimately our decision to be followers of Our Beautiful Creator!

Lauryn Hill, live in Tokyo, 1999 Yo, y-yo, yo, y-yo Yo, uh, yo, y-yo, yo, y-yo It could all be so simple (ba-ba-ba-baby, baby, baby) But you'd rather make it hard (huh, uh) Loving you is like a battle (it's like a battle) And we both end up with scars Tell me who I have to be (who I have to be) To get some reciprocity See, no one loves you more than me (more than me) And no one ever will (no one ever will, yeah) Is this just a silly game (silly game) That forces you to act this way? (to act this way) Forces you to scream my name Then pretend that you can't stay (yeah) Tell me, who I have to be (I know what we gotta do) To get some reciprocity See, no one loves you more than me And no one ever will No matter how I think we grow You always seem to let me know It ain't working (it ain't working, no), it ain't working And when I try to walk away You'd hurt yourself to make me stay This is crazy, this is crazy (oh, this is crazy, uh-huh) I keep letting you back in (you back in) How can I explain myself? (I don't understand why) As painful as this thing has been I just can't be with no one else See I know what we've got to do (yeah) You let go (you let go), and I'll let go too (and I'll let go) 'Cause no one's hurt me more than you And no one ever will No matter how I think we grow You always seem to let me know It ain't working (it ain't working), it ain't working (it ain't working) And when I try to walk away You'd hurt yourself to make me stay This is crazy (this is crazy), this is crazy (this is crazy) Care for me, care for me I know you care for me (There) There for me, there for me Said you'd be there for me (Cry) Cry for me, cry for me You said you'd die for me (Give) Give to me, give to me Why won't you live for me? (Care) Care for me, care for me You said you'd care for me (There) There for me, there for me Said you'd be there for me (Cry) Cry for me, cry for me You said you'd die for me (Give) Give to me, give to me Why won't you live for me? The fact this woman was 23 years old when this album was released! Her mind was beautiful, her hair, her skin, her delivery, her vibe, her ESSENCE was so pure and smooth af! The way she wrote about what she was going through and turned it into a forever relevant masterpiece is amazing. You can tell, her putting out this one album her whole career allowed her to get some shit off her chest and I appreciate that. I am in my 30's and I can honestly say I cry the best healing tears listening to this song and the album itself.

Music is so therapeutic. Heard this last night at work since forever & I still remembered every line. Although he's a different genre, that's why I love Trent Reznor (NIИ). He has written every lyric himself & he went through some very dark times. To know that someone you respect knows what it's like makes you feel less alone. Now, he's in his 50s, has a stunning wife (Mariqueen Maandig), 5 kids & is getting his due respect in the industry. He's one award away from an EGOT, putting him in the same group as John Legend, Elton John & very few others.

As a man who was the toxic factor in my relationship, this song even makes me cry because I knew I was hurting my ex with my emotional immaturity but could never put it into words. I just knew I was doing her more harm than good. It hits home when you realize you’re putting someone you love through turmoil cus u can’t regulate yourself. I’m sorry. I wish I never hurt you the way I did.
