You'll never distort this mic because it clips the signal by design. It'll never distort but you'll never get the real transient either.

Hello, NoEgo! This mic has six filters on board that are designed around sculpting snare tones, but there isn’t anything to say this mic will only sound good on snare. Hey, Christian. Thanks so much for reaching out. I have not tried them on toms, but they are voiced specifically for the snare. I suppose they wouldn’t sound bad but I’m sure there are better tom mics out there depending on the sound you’re after. Hope this helps.
