This is such good content. Baffles me how more companies don't do it. Industry and musical legends all coming together to talk about classic albums, recording history, and technical stuff, all while in a chill environment, having a laugh. This is PEAK morning coffee material. And yes, it DOES make me plan on buying your shit! Because it sounds great and shows you have good company culture. Same as Drum centre of portsmouth videos. Please keep it going, we need chad smith, gavin harrison, dave grohl, the works!!

Paul's shiny mirrored finished Tama kit he used during the Divine era 94-95, the kit you can see him playing on during Live Intrusion concert, is my favorite kit he has ever played on. I love those Tama bell brass piccolo snares.. Dave Lombardo also used one with his live touring drum set during the Seasons in the Abyss era before he left in 92. For Paul's situation I always found it funny that he was in the mindset of using a piccolo snare for fast attacking hits that cut through and to allow him to play faster snare rolls that cut through the slayer sound, but he used big, monstrous power toms which imo are not good for playing fast drum fills with fast attacking hits that cut through the mix. They're more boomy and deep sounding which wouldnt cut through as good as shallow tom dimensions. Dudes like Paul, Lombardo, and Lars Ulrich were using 15x15 rack toms. Thats insane and bigger than my floor tom lol. Visually it looked funny seeing a tiny piccolo with big power toms.

He's so underrated and he's a very nice guy. I hope he has made some money with Slayer's final tour. Because now that they're not selling many records anymore, playing and selling some merchandise was the only way to make some money. I don't worry about King or Araya, they earned enough. But Paul was a side player in Slayer and he should have at least earned some money to live a decent life.

I love is take on the snare sound for the type of metal that metal drummers want. If it is a big fat sounding snare, it's good for hard rock and 80's metal. In my taste, thrash, speed, fast or death metal, the high pitch snare like a piccolo is the better choice because it cuts through. It doesn't get lost in the drum rolls, skank or blast beats.
