From the Carbon Fiber build to the built-in effects, I knew this acoustic guitar was going to be different from what I am used to playing. More than anything, I'm always looking for the ideal "Grab-and-Go" companion guitar, and the Lava ME 2 seemed to fit the bill. It's non traditional design had me slightly skeptical. After all, the perfect portable guitar still needs to sound good! Let's just say this guitar was not what I was expecting! Enjoy the video!

Had mine for about 2 years now. I really love this guitar and I always take it camping - which I do a lot of in the spring/summer/winter here in Michigan where it gets very cold, very hot, and often very humid - absolute hell if you have a wood acoustic guitar (my poor wood Guild acoustic is in poor shape because of camping - and stays home all the time now). This guitar is very comfortable to play, great upper neck access, and has fantastic tuning stability. I recently put on some new D'Addario XS Acoustic Guitar Strings, Extra Light, 10-47 to try something new - they're coated so my Lava will be extra resistant to the elements while camping.....get one!!!

My go to acoustic is the Yamaha LSTA. It's kind of the same thing with a transducer that provides reverb and chorus. The difference is it's made of spruce and rosewood. It's lush 🥰

Great video! Many thanks for this. I have had my black ME2 for about 3 months now, and I LOVE it, LOVE it, LOVE it! Things for which I would love it even more: 1) tap delay 2) looper I know, both of these are featured in the ME3. However, I'm blind, and that touch screen in the ME3 would not be usable for me. I have not found a German-speaking review of the Lava, so will do this shortly on my channel. :)

The high E open string is not ringing correctly. Either the bridge or nut needs to be set a lot better. Also higher frets have some dead spots. I like everything else about this guitar. Do you now why on most videos I see on KZbin they say it lists $699 on Amazon, but it's listed for $799. So did the company jack up the list price on us. I've been playing for 45 years. (I'm not saying that because I think I know everything about guitars, but only because I've played a ton of different guitars in all those years) and this list price is way too high for the playability of this guitar. The effects on the inside don't really cost that much anymore. I think it would be more suited at $499 list. I am a fan of this guitar and would like one but anyone could get a much better playing guitar for the same money they're asking for here. Like your demos. Great video and sound quality.

Thanks for the comment and kind words. Not sure about the price increase or why that happened. Keep an eye out for any more changes, maybe the price will drop again. I do know that manufacturing delays and shipping issues have impacted the industry quite a bit since covid. Maybe that has something to do with the prices?

There are different versions. The acoustic-electric version is $699, but the one with free boost is $799. I don’t know if that’s the reason that caused the difference you saw.

@@keithclark486 bra! Same here. I've owned a guitar store for 16 years. Played thousands of guitars in the store and shows. This little Lava Me 2 smoked any guitar in this price range. GS-Mini didn't come close to my ears. The Lava Me plays better and has more volume, clarity and resonance. It's a little gem. I just sold my 0-18 martin cause I don't need it anymore as this guitar is less hassle and feels superb. Plus, I can leave this guitar out of the box and don't have to worry about humidity issues in Hawaii.

It’s been plek’d and then two carbon fibre rods in the neck, it’ll have perfect intonation and low string height forever ✨

The pro looks really nice! I haven't played it, but I've watched video reviews of it. Looks like a really nice guitar. I'd say if you want a travel/Smaller sized guitar, get the Me2. But if you're looking for a guitar that's better suited for performing and recording, and also has a much fuller sound, get the pro.

Kind of got a raspy metallic sound. Not necessarily bad though. The effects are completely useless. How well did you like the setup? Did it stay in tune well? Any fret sprout? Always thought the idea of a "Travel Guitar" is a complete joke. Either you have a working instrument or its Trash. I doubt anyone will ever romanticize over the tone. But, it sure seems like a workable very low maintenance instrument.

This is a travel guitar. NOTHING more. Compared to any good guitar it sounds pretty bad. Action and neck feel fine, intonation ok, nothing special. Don't buy unless you plan to travel or camp and you know you will never carry a fine instrument....and there you have it. Don't even consider comparing it to a fine instrument; you are exposing yourself as one who has never played a fine instrument. My 1991 Taylor 612 is glorious, this is meh. BUT.... I plan to travel and camp and mountain bike for days or weeks at a time....This will keep me playing on the road. At home, It will never be touched. This is a travel guitar, one you don't worry about in the car or the tent. End Of Story.
