Chris Hristov Boats like that usually have two engines for speed and redundancy. They also have oars and a radio to get help. The other boat can also toss a line for towing.

The ongoing eruption has displaced thousands of people, with many forced to evacuate their homes. Despite the dangers, some residents have chosen to stay, citing a strong attachment to their land and community. The long-term impact of the eruption on the island's ecosystem and infrastructure remains uncertain. Overall, the Kilauea volcano's eruption has been a dramatic and ongoing event, with significant consequences for the environment, local communities, and global interest. 😢😢😢

@@preston8083 No, no lava flows when I was there in 2/20. I doubt my wife would have gone if there was, lol. However, there was a whole lot of sulfur smelling steam venting up through crevices in the ground around the volcano, though, which was pretty awesome in itself. That along with the lava rock that flowed for miles right to the Pacific, made it all so other worldly. Hope you get a chance to experience that.

Water has a high heat capacity which will cool the lava down rather quickly. But that's a lot of lava. It's like the unstoppable force against the immovable object.
