I drink this blend nearly every day from a drip brew or pour over method. Pour over gives me pleasant cinnamon, citrus and cocoa flavor notes with Gran Espresso with very light acidity. There is also a pleasant heady, liqueur aroma swirling the coffee just after finishing brewing. Weighing the beans and weighing the water in a constant ratio and changing grind size helps me find whatever line there is between acidity and bitterness in any given roast. Water temp is another variable, but that starts to get complicated and controversial.

That's great to hear this coffee comes out well with other brewing methods! Even if it's not the Italians favorite, I think a lot of people still enjoy it. It's also unique because a large portion of the blend is made of robusta beans which sometimes gets a bad reputation.

Yeah, it doesn't always have to be Arabica, right!

Coffee is a personal taste thing, when one person says a certain type is good, not always good to my taste. So I have learned many times by throwing coffee that people recommended and I didn't like them.

Lavazza "Blue Bag" range is the coffee they supply to cafes and bars all over Italy. If you want an authentic taste that you get in an Italian cafe try the Blue Bag coffees.

From Wikipedia: A French press, also known as a cafetière, cafetière à piston, caffettiera a stantuffo, press pot, coffee press, or coffee plunger, is a coffee brewing device, although it can also be used for other tasks. In 1923 Ugo Paolini, an Italian, filed patent documents relating to a tomato juice separator and he developed the idea of making a coffee pot with a press action and a filter. He assigned his 1928 patent to Italian designer Attilio Calimani and Giulio Moneta[1] who filed it in 1929

You don't get all the notes because you didn't use an espresso machine. You made watered down coffee

Actually there is "conflict of interest"! French press is usually good for coarse grounds, espressos are usually finer ground. That being said, I never tried either French press or lavazza, so not saying from experience, just googled stuff.

Thanks and we actually ground this from beans and did a medium grind...so we did it in the middle of the conflict.
