If you don't think Lavander Towne's opinions as a pro artist are enough, just check other pros, like Boro or people who live from this like Sara Alfageeh. Pros are really easy to find on twitter and have already been using procreate/art studio PRO (way more reliable alternatives) all this time, I hardly doubt they'll change to this new gimmicky adobe app

I know procreate is worth it but im telling you why Adobe products are the amount they are. They are meant for artists working at a professional level, why else would you drop that much? its not meant for little anime fan art. Il have to do 12 mate paintings sometimes within a couple days, thats why i use photoshop lol

@@sumdude2999 that's what i'm saying, even if you work on industry standart (like again sara alfageeh, nesskain, gabriel piccolo, isadora zeferino and others), unless you're absolutely required to use Fresco, you're not gonna want it and since industry standart is not the iPad the only reason Fresco isn't doomed to fail is because it's free with the adobe subscription.

Adobe simply charges that much because they can. They have more or less a monopoly in the professional space. Since they’re the “standard” they know how much they can charge. Adobe isn’t special. The product is priced based on how much they know the consumer is willing to pay. Wacom is horrendously overpriced due to the same circumstance. However I am glad to see XP and Huion become more prevalent

Autismo Maximo lol NOOB I can make money with a 5 cents pencil, actually can make money with ANY free app, apps don’t draw for you 👆🏻 actually my work horse is blender 2.8 that is totally free and provides me enough for make a good living 😎 And the auto desk sketch book is free and my main app for sketching, if you will use flat coloring with simple shading for cartoony or anime style is more than enough 🤷‍♂️ if you are going after a more complex style procreate is the way to go, you also can use clip studio that is as procreate one shoot buy, but procreate is cheaper, 🤔 still if you are into comics creation probably the best bet is clip art studio

I like to purchase custom brushes. As a semi-realism portrait artist, my favorites are skin textures, freckles, eyelashes and hair, and plants - I don’t wanna take time to try to draw plants. Lol. As far as built-in brushes, I love the technical pen, air brush, and the light pen for shiny eyes and teeth and jewelry. The orientalist brush is very cool and painterly as well. The new halftones feature is cool, or you could always find a picture of screen tone, and use it as a clipping mask wherever you want.

Note: Procreate is getting a mega update soon and one of the biggest updates for it is the brush engine. Following this update you will be able to import photoshop brushes and you can customise brushes more. It also will have an update to the animation feature (live preview, onion skin, etc). Edit: just got to the bit where LT talked about the update... but eh

@@Beck2524 You wouldn't get Fresco's live brushes but the original kyle brushes should work fine. But expect "way better tailored to Procreate's strengths" brushes from Max Ulichney for example. And the defaults should be also much better as Procreate 5 comes out in (hopefully) a few weeks.
