She isn’t being aggressive. He just doesn’t like her. He used aggression as a way to deflect and make her feel hesitant about showing affection. Essentially, he gaslighted her into thinking she was being aggressive when, in reality, she was just trying to be affectionate. He doesn’t want her affection because he doesn’t have feelings for her.

A lot of the time it seems that people use the wrong words for the wrong concepts. I believe the word he should have used in place of "aggressive" should have been "assertive". Folks just don't have the vocabulary to convey what it is they're really meaning to say.

@@SaynJust Yes! I just realized this fact the other day! My statement though was not to excuse him, moreso a realization- that people use this word often bc they aren't aware of an appropriate one. But hell nah, no excuses for him! Ikeche definitely intended to gaslight Emem- and for what when she's been nothing but sweet, pleasant to be around and making an honest effort to learn the man?! Ugh.

I need to know more about the bar and the racial incidents because to me on face value it’s not that big of a deal because especially in a big city like Chicago there’s probably lots of places where there’s been racial incidents and lots of Black people still go and I bet if he was more dark skinned like the men she usually likes it wouldn’t be an issue for Camille.
