The "Walking Ghost" syndrome was depicted in the mini-series "Chernobyl" really well. Great series if you haven't seen it yet.

There is soooo much more to the Zack and Addie story. Addie used Zack to get that new apartment cuz she was broke and took him off immediately because she never really wanted him to move in. Also Zack was previously married and had kids. Addie was also bipolar. Neither of them were great people and had a lot of issues.

His name is John B. Allen. His KZbin Mr. Ballen, not Mr. B Allen. When he said that someone corrected him in the last video my first thought was, "But he himself says Ballen."

I went to Louisiana once and I don't know about things to that level, but I know they're kind of whatever about living in a place that could be haunted. I've even seen signs that say that a particular apartment could be haunted. I'd rather live in a haunted apartment than use that oven.

The famous "Ouchi"-picture he was talking about at the end isn't Ouchi though (the picture is of a man on his back in a hospital bed with his arms and legs lifted, and with one of his feet missing). It's a picture of a burn victim. I can highly recommend reading "Slow Death: 83 Days of Radiation Sickness". It paints another picture than just evil doctors keeping him alive against his will as a guinea pig. There's a Japanese documentary with English subtitles here on KZbin as well, where the medics involved with Ouchi's treatment speak about the experience. I highly recommend that as well.

@@gr8gmr I've read the book "Slow Death: 83 Days of Radiation Sickness". It's based on Ouchi's medical records and it contains a picture of Ouchi's sterile room at the hospital. It looks absolutely nothing like the room in the famous picture claimed to be Ouchi. The person in that picture also has a foot missing. The doctors treating Ouchi discussed amputating his foot, but decided against it since he wouldn't be able to heal afterwards. The bed in the "Ouchi picture" looks nothing like the hospital bed they placed Ouchi in either. I highly recommend that you read the book and then compare the information and the pictures in it with the so called "Ouchi picture". You'll notice that pretty much nothing fits.

@@gr8gmr Another major difference is that Hisashi Ouchi was intubated pretty early on, while the patient in the "Ouchi picture" isn't.

What they did to Ouchi wasn't a bit sketchy, it's completely unethical! I don't know if it was legal in Japan at the time or not, but in terms of medical and scientific ethics it was completey wrong! Putting someone through torture to study them, particularly some who is no longer consenting to it, the goes against every practice for ethical medical research.

It would have been illegal for the doctors NOT to try to resuscitate him without a signed do not resuscitate order from his wife, and it wasn't until after his three cardiac arrest on day 59 she actually signed one. At one point his sister even donated bone marrow. There's a book (Slow Death: 83 Days of Radiation Sickness) and a Japanese documentary with English subtitles here on KZbin that gives a way more nuanced picture of what happened. Both of them have used Ouchi's medical records as a reference. Highly recommend them both.

@@theosnepenthes8751 even going against the insensitive angle, the devil made him do it is a tired and overused plotline in horror anyway like in the amityville horror films which are meh at best and dont even portray the story correctly.

Really strange interpretation of the Ouchi story. The doctors had to keep intervening to save his life because his family wanted them to. His sister even donated bone marrow to try and save him, and it improved his situation markedly for about a week, but the radiation still in his body killed off those cells and he eventually died. Also there’s no way in hell someone is still actively using that stove. Pretty sure it would have been removed from the apartment at least initially and thoroughly sanitized. Someone would have had to pay really good money to get it back. Not sure they should have been allowed to tbh. Sometimes I think this guy just goes for the most sensational take on a story, no matter how accurate it is…which is kind of sad.
