Law enforcement action at US universities ‘disproportionate’: UN

The UN has voiced concerns regarding the treatment of pro-Palestine protesters at US universities.
The spokesperson for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Marta Hurtado, said “We are concerned that some of law enforcement actions across a series of universities appear disproportionate in their inputs.”
Protests have swept through US higher education institutions, with many erecting tent encampments on campus grounds after about 100 protesters were first arrested at Columbia University in New York on April 18.
At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, police moved in on Tuesday morning to clear one encampment, detaining some protesters.
At the University of Texas at Austin, police also clashed with protesters on Monday, including using pepper spray, and made arrests while dismantling an encampment, adding to hundreds detained nationwide over the weekend.

Columbia University invited Ron Johnson and the founder of the Proud Boys to their campus. Then we suddenly had break-ins in some of the buildings. When I saw the videos, they looked exactly like the January 6 incursions in the Capitol. About a year ago Missoula Montana wanted run homeless people out of the county Montana. So the made them for camping. So It came up about a law. It was passed in idaho. federal law. You cannot run homeless people out of town with no camping laws. They can' camp in the city. Limits. or county limits if there are no good shelter facilityies.. The people in missoula have a class action lawsuit against the city

The last few years acity inIdaho tried to run all homeless people out of town and there were no shelter beds. So the homeless with people ccamped and federal law was actually passed. You could not tell homeless people. They can't camp out. if there are no beds in the shelter. I just want to share that because I think a lot of these students are gonna need that.
