Hi,I saw your comment and was intrigued as my main interest and use is CAS Graphing calculators(some of which you’ve just mentioned) and I was under the assumption you channel focuses on scientific calculators.Thus was wondering...I have a Ti Nspire CX CAS,how would you say this compares to the class pad(which you’ve just purchased) or HP Prime etc.In terms of features,support etc.Thanks

It is probably not something I can answer yet as I don't have a TI Nspire and have only used a HP Prime briefly. Please note Ian Abbot's comment for another user. You are correct, I do mainly focus on Scientific calculators more so the Classpad is new to me really. Hopefully others can comment on the differences in CAS models as this would be useful to many.

They are usually a SHIFT feature, like ln has the shift feature e^■. Alternatively use the x^■ button with the base of your log as the base number.

I didn't realise the Classwiz has a question mark! Make sure you are in Calculate and just try pressing = at that point when it asks for x

You need a model that has CAS such as the TI-Nspire CAS or the Casio Classpad. I have literally just purchased a Classpad and it does look great, but it does have an overwhelming number of features.

Note that the TI-Nspire comes in both CAS and non-CAS versions, so make sure you get the CAS one for algebra. I'd also add HP Prime to that list of modern CAS calculators. Alternatively, you can still find older CAS calculators with such as HP 50g, TI-89 Titanium, or older black-and white versions of the TI-Nspire CAS for sale new or second hand, but these have slower processors and lower resolution, black and white displays. The HP 50g and TI-89 Titanium are still highly regarded by their respective users, although the HP 50g has a pretty steep learning curve. The TI-89 Titanium seems more user-friendly, but has a lot of commonly used functions hidden in menus instead of on the keys.
