I'm in the US so it may be different for Canadians, but do you think its important that you come from a big university, or a major one to get into law school? Do you think it helps your chances for getting in? Obviously GPA and LSAT scores are weighed greatly, but i was curious of your position on if it matters about what school you're from.

What is the average u have to get to enter law school? Also, do you have to take a math class?Or do you do math or not anymore??
@rahas92157 жыл бұрын
it depends on different law schools, you can google it and it will tell you what the average applicant should have. And most undergrad programs in Canada require you to do some kind of math or statistics, I know for poli sci, there is a mandatory stats course. But law school doesn't require you to take a separate math course before you apply. ( Not sure if the same is true for international students). hope this helps!

After issuing a creditor the Judgment Proof Letter, can I still buy anything on other credit cards? At 82, I own nothing: no home; no car; absolutely nothing. I have a smartphone, an iPad, and an old PC. I am computer literate. I exist on SS month-to-month. The amount is $6 above the poverty level amount. So I don’t qualify for Medicaid to pay for the Social Security Insurance deduction of $130 something. I would buy hearing aids; eye glasses; dental work; but no money to do so. I pay less than $1,000. for prescriptions and slightly less than $500. for mineral & vitamins. I have nothing left to pay for the mounting medical bills. I don’t respond to any medical billings and they remain unpaid. Basically I don’t have anything of any value. So, I don’t respond to collectors and don’t appear in court. But, what If I buy expensive hearing aids and eye glasses on credit: quit making payments and then send them a Judgement Proof Letter? Can the creditor get my hearing aids and eye glasses back? ;

Did you have a minor? Do schools look for a transcript with classes geared towards law?
@belakfan37 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what country you're from, and I can only speak as a Canadian but here is my best advice I can give you. Law School is a graduate school, and thus you've already completed you're undergrad (or close to it when you apply.) Law Schools do not expect incoming students to have any knowledge of the law upon entrance. Sure, having a legal program or courses under your belt COULD help you in your success, what they really want to know is how well rounded you are (activities list and personal statement) and your GPA + LSAT score(s). In regards to your minor, you can do that in your undergrad. I'd highly recommend you take your undergrad as something you're passionate about and earn the best grades you can while getting involved in your school and community. I know it's obvious to say "I'm passionate about the law! I want to do that!" as why else would you go to law school? Am I right? But look at the bigger picture. If you do say, a forensic psychology program in your undergrad (major or minor), you can bring a great angle to cases that some people may not have considered if they came from political science. Maybe you took history, you'd have a great look at the development and progress of society as a whole overtime. My point is this; consider your undergrad as something you can add to your law degree. Your law degree is one of a few graduate degrees that you don't have to continue in your same field of study to get. Like if you wanted to go the Masters/PhD route. You could do your undergrad in biology and get your law degree and then specialize in environmental law, and that scientific background would be all the more useful to your field of interest. Okay, I wrote wayyyy too much here. TL;DR just remember this: No, you do not need legal courses to get into law school. Do an undergrad in something your passionate about and think about how you can add to your law degree with it. Have a nice day :P
