The medical examiner who conducted the autopsy of Catherine Griffith testified in the trial against her son, Collin Griffith, on Friday. Dr. David Caravan explained Catherine’s cause of death was a sharp force stab wound to the neck and the manner of death was homicide, or a killing by another person. Dr. Caravan also confirmed that based on his analysis, it appeared Catherine was fighting for her life while she was stabbed. He also testified that the knife wound on her neck was not consistent with someone falling on a knife, which is what Collin claimed happened.

Seventeen-year-old Collin Griffith is accused of killing his mother, Catherine Griffith, after the two allegedly got in a fight in September of 2024. Collin Griffith told investigators his mother came at him with a knife and she fell on it, forcing a fatal stab wound, but detectives say the teen really murdered her. In 2023, Griffith confessed to killing his father in Oklahoma in what he claimed was self-defense. He was originally arrested for his father’s death but those charges got dropped.

@@LorriSimpleGirl It's similar to working at a nursing home, changing bandages to really bad ulcers, pushing uteruses back in, checking the back shoot with finger for blockage, sucking out phlegm and then cleaning the leftover stuck on the face ..and then go for lunch. You get used to what you do daily I guess. I saw an autopsy for the first few minutes. It's so clean and generally the other areas of the body are covered such as privates, depending on where they're working. Always that smell though. It stays with you for a while.

She didn't raise him..he came to her after he murdered his dad...in the late teens.. she was trying so hard to make up for lost time.. probably felt guilty to have not raised him ..if you heard yesterdays testimony by the detective that worked close with her and the son...she admitted to the risks and possibly dying in the arms of her son if it was the only way she can spend time with him .. she had a lot of guilt on how he was raised and was forcing him to love her and be in her life...

Even if your name is “John Smith” witnesses are ALWAYS required to say and spell their names for the record. Such details are an essential part of the legal process. If your name is spelled “Jon Smyth” it could be inferred you are not the correct witness who should be testifying.
