He created an extremely hostile workplace they also show video that the women took of him in a parking garage with one of his subservients they were in the back of her car and when he was confronted he claimed they were having a meeting. Pleas are offered by prosecutors, not by complete whim of the defendant. When a plea is refused, it usually makes headline (and even used in court as a defence as in many high profile cases), so quite likely he never was offered one. At least not a very favourable one much better than life in prison if the prosecutor thinks it won’t be a lot of work to get a conviction meanwhile the defence knows even a sure case like Casey Anthony’s has a better chance than a really crappy sure sentence.
