Pleas are offered by prosecutors, not by complete whim of the defendant. When a plea is refused, it usually makes headline (and even used in court as a defence as in many high profile cases), so quite likely he never was offered one. At least not a very favourable one much better than life in prison if the prosecutor thinks it won’t be a lot of work to get a conviction meanwhile the defence knows even a sure case like Casey Anthony’s has a better chance than a really crappy sure sentence.

Defense lawyer earning his pay. But he asked: You gave a statement HURTFUL TO Robert Telles? WTF is this high school? He recognised unique shoes, distinct walk and the vehicle of Telles, someone he knows very well. Great video for people who will testify to watch - when you give damming testimony (shoes, walk, vehicle) and defense ignores all that and is focussing on timing, who friends with etc you need to realise you crushed it and defense is flailing and talking to score points with his client but not impacting the jury.

Would he have gotten similar sentence if he plead guilty and didn't take this to trial?

Apparently Telles' defense to this raft of incriminating evidence, is that he was framed. He better have some REALLY strong evidence to bring forth because the prosecution case is full of both forensic and circumstantial evidence that he committed the crime. Oh, and motive, which isn't even needed. Telles shaking his head when strong evidence is put forward just looks plain bad for him. Defense attorney is disrespectful to every state witness, and grasps at straws constantly.

Telles is adamant that he was framed via a joint effort between the real estate company, the entire police department, the independent forensics lab and many more. Telles evidence he was framed is, "trust me bro". SMH.

I’m new to this case but Telles is radiating guilty vibes (& I’m usually fairly spot-on with my observations)
