I can attest that the courts take jury duty *very* seriously. When I was on jury duty, we weren't sequestered, but the clerk made it very clear if we had a question we were to ring the bell and she would knock. At which time, we were to stop deliberating before we opened the door. And we were *NOT* to discuss the case in her presence. I'm just glad I wasn't assigned to the trial of an organized criminal. That would have been a nightmare.

We had a 18 year old what appeared to be an immature young women that fought us on the over 40 counts. Anyway after the trial I had to go up to a room to get a slip with dates served for work. This girl and the rich guys friends were in the same elevator as me. Girl said to them "I tried". Only time in my life that hair on my back stood up. Anyway we nailed them on most of the charges. There have been a lot of long run TV shows over the years but Law & Order stands head and shoulders above the rest. The characters were so fully fleshed out. You could, in your mind, almost see Lenny's apartment. It's never shown in the series. That didn't matter though. You knew him. You knew everything about him. His ex's, his daughter, his bookies...etc. This is why we continue to watch. The writing was just so good. Law & Order is the diamond standard of cop and court room dramas.

I love how every spinoff show uses the same Theme song. Jazz it up or slow it down it just seems to work. The new Law and Order Organized Crime has this really cool version of this theme song. I have it as my ring tone.

Totally agree ! This show would have a totally different vibe if they'd pick "The Whoopee Cushion Serenade" to be the theme song.

Logan in the Law and order movie was only cop to find the killer who is a cop. But the others in a sense of "loyal" to the killer refuse to arrest him. But Logan had to call Internal affairs then the others gets angry at Logan.

NBC doesn't have the streaming rights to all 20+ seasons. Not all the seasons are available either. It's about the residuals to the big league short timers like Paul Sorvino, JK Simmons, and Michael Moriarty.

They had a couple more seasons of decent episodes, post 9/11 it really became all plots where the defendant is easy to catch but who tries to moralize with the jury about how they did the right thing and they get inches close to an acquittal.
