I can attest that the courts take jury duty *very* seriously. When I was on jury duty, we weren't sequestered, but the clerk made it very clear if we had a question we were to ring the bell and she would knock. At which time, we were to stop deliberating before we opened the door. And we were *NOT* to discuss the case in her presence. I'm just glad I wasn't assigned to the trial of an organized criminal. That would have been a nightmare.
