Even his lawyer was like “the judge can’t overturn the verdict” “this is not helping you” The judge literally CANNOT take into account deniability at that point. Addressing the court post-verdict is only to convey remorse to be considered by the judge for sentencing. If you’re not remorseful or still maintain innocence, do not address the court. It’s not mandatory and truly does hurt you because remorse/lack of, has an impact on the sentence.

Attorney here, this case is just horrific. I’ll tell you, I’ve been involved in some rough cases over the course of my career including 4 years of being a defense attorney and 3 years of being a prosecutor; I can say without a shadow of doubt the worst cases I have ever been involved with are family issues in which the offender attempts to lie and blame the victim. It is so disturbing someone can try lying and dragging someone’s name through the mud like ruthlessly taking advantage of their genuine love and ultimately stealing their lives couldn’t do it for these offenders.

So you’re saying his confession wasn’t consistent with the actual manner of death? Ok, sounds like it was a false confession then; I’ve talked to cops who said that’s a classic sign of when they didn’t really do it.
@TeaSpiracy2 жыл бұрын
@@streetracer2321 Except there was no "Reid Technique" used, Todt was never under any psychological pressure from authorities to "tell them what they wanted to hear." He opened up immediately, and was lucid and clear. Usually false confessions are the result of the suspect feeling pressure. After watching the interrogation, I did not sense that at all. That, in conjunction with the other admittances and overall scenario, seems highly unlikely that it was a false one. Not in this situation anyways. But I hear what you mean.

He must have thought everything he touched turned to gold - and then got greedy, and arrogantly began getting into debt and running the company into the ground. When he murdered his family he was facing foreclosure on the family home - they were facing homelessness, thanks to his financial mismanagement. He was just too used to being the big boss man and making decisions without consulting anyone else - least of all his wife.
