When I saw his outburst, I just...sighed. Like goodness dude, you've already been busted; in all honesty, this was his last chance to make himself look better here, and he just...blew it. What he did was wrong, and I personally believe the sentence he recieved was fair, but even then I hoped at least he'd have it in him to own up to it. Alas, once a narcissist, always a narcissist I guess. Truly sad, the man could've used his platform for something good, and instead wasted it on obtaining clout. Welp, he got what he wanted I guess; I already see "I am innocent, and I am NOT suicidal!" becoming an ongoing meme for some time. It's almost comical the way this played out, or at least it would've been if it wasn't honestly quite sad. I'm not even a fan of the guy and I was still wishing he'd have some sort of redemption story. I'd personally sentence him to 15 years, knowing full well he won't serve anywhere near that amount, but he will at least serve 1.5 years upon his appeals, he needs more time in there. He applauded the family to say how that made what he did worse. It was the basis for an aggravating factor. And it's not a hate crime because it wasn't against any individual--hate crime law only applies to certain crimes. (not meaning to argue with your opinion just some legal notes)
@margaretshull44232 жыл бұрын

Every other defendant sentenced is cuffed Immediately, he gets the special privilege of walking out without them. Not cool, he needs to be treated like everyone else. The judge acknowledge it was attention getting and it pays off for him still. Jail time is to be used as a deterrent for the public to be put on notice that doing the same will land you in prison. This is a slap on the wrist.

@anastasiabeaverhausen29962 жыл бұрын
As the judge explained it was his decision. During the trial he respected the wishes of the defense to ensure a more fair trial; at sentencing he is already convicted and the judge has already considered his sentence. Based on what the judge said he learned during the trial, I sure wish the trial were televised. Jussie’s family should be ashamed of themselves declaring him “innocent” even after just what we all learned today. They should quietly go get Jussie the help he needs to address his toxic narcissism and help him stop lying. 🤦🏻♀️
