You know Chandler's heart about fell out of his butt when she told him that the cops had already been by and gotten all of the footage and she didn't know what was on it. He was fishing to see what the cops were going to see and was probably panicking knowing that their surveillance system is so extensive and that the cops WON'T see his parents leaving but WILL see him opening all of the windows and having a fire in the fireplace all night. Probably made him shake in his boots. Good.

@@glamdolly30 The first woman interviewed is a neighbor that lives kiddy-corner from The Halderson's; her son had installed the 2nd camera system in her home... her son is also a correction's officer at the local correction facility where Chandler would be housed. A lot of coincidences to have all of that line up. 💥💯
@glamdolly30
@glamdolly30 3 жыл бұрын
@@CatalinaFOIA Wow yes, lots of spooky serendipity there! Thanks for explaining, for some reason I missed that info when I watched the video. I can't have been paying attention - think I was stunned that so many who encountered Chandler in the days after he'd murdered his parents said he gave them the creeps! I reckon the family dogs must have been terrified of him too, as silent witnesses to their beloved owners' dismemberment. Poor darlings couldn't tell anyone.😿😿 This is why evil, cold blooded killers like him are ultimately found out. They are so out of step with normal, emotionally-functioning people, they can't even convincingly fake heartache at loved-ones going missing. Plus Chandler was telling Bart and Krista's oldest friends they'd gone to a casino with a strange couple, a ton of cash and boxes of liquor - when they knew full well they were a stay at home, anti gambling, and boozing couple, and accountant Bart was described by several as 'tight' with money! I hoped as the trial unfolded we might learn why Chandler told that particular lie about his parents, when it was such an unlikely story to anyone who knew them. I kept expecting a witness to pop up and say Chandler had been captured on CCTV stealing $1,000 from his dad's account and stocked up on booze to take to his girlfriend's house for a surprise engagement party or something! I guess like so many other aspects of this horror story, it will remain a mystery.
@dianayount2122
@dianayount2122 3 жыл бұрын
@@glamdolly30 did he steal the money? he may have used the booze as he tried to burn his parents bodies. There was a fan in front of the fireplace. Theory was that he tried to increase airflow, to increase temperature in fireplace because it takes ++ high temps to burn bodies. He may have also tried the booze, like lighter fluid, to increase the temp. Fireplace wasn't meant for such high temps and would explain the glass breaking.

I think they aren't crossing any witnesses because none of them have shown any damning evidence. This is a tough case for the defense. Pretty cut and dry. I think they have a strategy, and that is to not waste everyone's time arguing every single detail. It's obvious the kid went asking about cameras. He's on the footage. Can spin that into being a concerned child. I think the defense is waiting for experts and forensics to start. What can they gain by crossing the moms boss? He said she never missed work. Prosecution is getting minor witnesses out of the way, but also giving a good first impression. Lining up a bunch of smaller witnesses who have solid details. Leading the jury into believing the prosecution is extremely credible.

@glamdolly30
@glamdolly30 3 жыл бұрын
@@LourdesGzz Why do you deduce Chandler is a psychopath as opposed to a sociopath? In fact there are signs he is a sociopath, rather than a psychopath. Because he showed nervousness around the police, and would no doubt have failed a lie detector had one been performed. That nervousness points to a sociopath. Psychopaths don't feel fear, so frequently pass polygraph tests when they are lying their heads off! Their brains are physically different to non psychopaths, and this is clearly visible on brain scans. The electrical impulses to the frontal portions of the brain controlling emotions like love, empathy and fear are weak in psychopaths. So psychopaths are born, it's estimated around one in 10 people is somewhere on the psychopath spectrum. However not all will be dangerous or cruel. A psychopath who has a great childhood, with loving parents who set down boundaries and expectations of good behaviour and values, can become a loving and productive citizen. Sociopaths are a more complex category, and frequently go hand-in-hand with personality disorders like Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This sounds more like Chandler to me. At 23 he had never had any kind of job. Why not? Most teens get a Saturday job flipping burgers or pumping gas, just for beer money. Seems Chandler thought such menial work was beneath him. His choices indicate huge narcissism and entitlement, culminating in him feeling entitled to kill his parents when they presented a threat to his easy life.

@glamdolly30
@glamdolly30 3 жыл бұрын
@@dianayount2122 Interesting definition, but not a definitive one. I'm convinced there must have been many red flags in Chandler Halderson's behaviour, long before he became a murderer. He could well have got away with criminal behaviour as a teen - it seems clear he'd been getting away with an awful lot with his parents for an awfully long time, including umpteen pathological lies. These red flags were likely misinterpreted, misunderstood and underestimated by those closest to him. Had he got professional psychiatric help young, it's possible his warped psyche could have been made less toxic/dangerous. In my view it's no coincidence that recent, strikingly similar parental murders by twenty-something sons Grant Amato and Joel Guy Jr, feature strikingly similar stable, middle class childhoods. Like Chandler, those sons presented as slightly 'off', possibly having at least autistic traits. And yet none of them was diagnosed with any kind of personality disorder before they killed. I suspect they all had parents in denial about their psychiatric issues, who did not get them help because they couldn't acknowledge or accept they had those issues. Instead of biting the bullet and doing the tough thing for a parent - recognising your child isn't perfect and could have a significant anti-social personality disorder requiring expert treatment, they went overboard indulging their boys, giving them an easy ride, and telling them they were wonderful. That's how they unwittingly created adult men who were a dangerous combination of inadequate sociopath, and entitled narcissist. At least the mothers in those three cases did a lot of indulging. Joel Guy's mom Lisa worked full time purely so her adult son wouldn't have to, handing him her entire salary so he could enjoy the lazy lifestyle of an eternal student to age 28! In every case it was the father's belated intervention, confronting his immature, dependent son and threatening to bring the free ride to an end, that prompted both parents' murders. In my view these 'man-child' murders of parents by spoiled sons are becoming such a regular occurrence, they deserve a criminal category all their own.

I'm not psychic, but I see a lot of scary, bigger psychopaths in Chandler's future - and he's the scrawny, 'pretty-boy' type they go for. Biggest irony of this case is Chandler murdered the two people in the world who cared most for him, and would have been there for him in his darkest hour. Who does he have to turn to for any kind of support now? His brother? I don't think so! He literally blew the family apart, Mitchell owes him nothing and deserves to get on with his life and forget the loser who murdered his loving Mom and Dad. Ironically he will have a cash windfall of over $1 million to help him do that, as sole beneficiary of his parents' estate and life insurance, and I'm glad he does. I'm sure he'd much rather have his parents back, but they would be glad to know he has their money to rebuild his life with his fiance, and maybe some children who sadly will never get to meet their Grandma and Grandpa. I doubt any of Chandler's relatives kept him on their Christmas card list. And who would want to be friends with him? A few creepy pen-friends maybe, big deal. Chandler would have been better off with the death penalty. I wish him a long and healthy life in his locked cage, thinking every day of the Mom and Dad who loved him as no one else ever will, and the brother he was so jealous of, who got to inherit all the family money. I don’t think that’s entitlement. I think it directly indicates how much he wasn’t involved with the police. That the neighbors had to tell him that the police already took it and he wasn’t aware just shows he wasn’t working in conjunction with the police.

@@maryestadurtche9452 no the cops didn't his uncle who was a retired cop claims he told him too. Like duh as a retired cop he SHOULD of known in today's world w everyone having ring cameras they would already be on it😒. But I'm sure dad's brother was worried and just teaching without thinking🤷‍♀️. With all defendants coming and going it def made him look more guilty tho IMO. all it actually proves is his guilt and deceit.

@@bugsbunny7205I guess you need it spelled out eh? My point was that I don't trust for a minute that he loved his dogs, and I'm absolutely suspicious that he may be the reason the dogs are nervous and frightened and afraid of people and noises, finally it's very conceivable that he was responsible for the dog's injuries from "falling down the stairs."

I don't know why this kid didn't plead guilty. The evidence is overwhelming sometimes I think they like to relive it or get free time out of prison lunch etc. The guy Joel who dismembered his parents and boiled his mother's head look like he enjoyed his trial. It's a special kind of evil to dismember a body. These sick people think they are going to get away with it too. His police interview was bizarre, his affect was crazy I think he knew it was over at that point.

I think he went through the trial first because he's an entitled narcissist (imo). Secondly because I think secretly he hated his family for a long time. Thirdly he wanted to put his brother through the ordealnof a trial and having to listen to all the details or read them in the court reports. Anyone who sends a sibling a bullet as a get well card is capable of anything, I think.
