@franziskani

@@saraburns7340 This witness (an experienced lawyer) was not going to fall for any leading questions, he recognized them (of course) and answered them as he pleased (to the defense lawyer: You do not want me to go there ... I was with Alex in the week after the murder. I have seen things that were not even touched in this court room. Bam !). But the prosecutors questions did not insult his professional integrity. He could have simply asked him: You rightfully must feel angry towards AM, it would be only human if that would influence your testimony a little bit. Can you 100 % assure us this is not the case. And he would answer with a resounding NO, my emotions towards AM do not alter the way I testify here. And he is right, he said nothing that could be seen as being biased. I do not even know why the defense lawyer would go there. AM was a "theatrical" lawyer, and they discussed hog hunting and gun and hunting preferences. Nothing controversial in my mind - even if the witness would have been eaten up by anger. Even IF this witness wanted to shade the testimony, does this twat of defense lawyer really think he could hinder - or that he could bait him into showing too much anger. The defense lawyer did his client no favor with that stunt.

It’s easier to be honest when you’re angry with someone. Last night I rewatched the testimony of Paul’s friend , who was on the phone with Paul minutes before the murders. He’s SO angry, but so composed . His body language said it all. He figured it all out the day after when he heard Alex was telling a story that didn’t include being at the kennels. @@susanchurchwell3768 you are entitled to this opinion but a lot of innocent people behave this exact way when they are accused of things they didn’t do. He didn’t deny the anger instead he agreed he raised his voice and then explained why. He’s had a year or more to work on his anger with Alex, and like he said he had to work really hard to get past the being angry stage. At this point Alex means nothing in comparison to the truth of what happened to Paul and Maggie. Do you think the witness cared more about being angry with Alex truly, or telling the truth to get down to what happened to Paul and Maggie? (Paul being someone he really cared about himself). Im sure best case scenario in the witnesses mind is just that he’s a terrible thief and untrustworthy person, Vs. Him murdering his wife and kid for any reason. I don’t think he wants to condemn Alex for something he didn’t do, but wants to be honest about what he knows he did do as to not be affiliated with Alexs character.

@@saraburns7340 You misunderstand the concept of innocent until proven guilty, my friend. It doesn't require any individual to believe he's innocent. The concept of "innocent until proven guilty" means that legally his status is that of a free/innocent man because he hasn't yet been proven guilty by a court of law of the crime until he has stood the process of trial. The jurors are required to listen to evidence before voting, of course. What you're suggesting would be mind control by the government of all people.

You've clearly never witnessed a murder trial. Unfortunately they have to ask really difficult incriminating questions that make people uncomfortable so we can get to the bottom of the truth and prosecute the murderer, the criminal, the whole reason why they're in the courtroom. People who have survived Psychopaths, or even survive murder, we know these hard questions will be asked so we can get to the bottom of things. Whether you like it or not, whether you think this person is out of line, clearly shows that you know nothing of the legal system when it comes to try to prosecute a guilty person for killing their entire family. Pardon the prosecuting party for making the witness feel uncomfortable. Absolutely unbelievable that you think a prosecutor should make people feel comfortable on the witness stand.

I agree however this is a very high profile case and since day one I knew the fighting wouldn’t be fair but rather dirty. The night of the murders there were responding officers who purposefully tried contaminating the crime scene. There were quite a handful of officers and other responding officials who trampled all over the crime scene, tampering, even standing over Maggie’s body just having a casual convo. They tampered so much I believe a lieutenant or Sargent even commented about it that night (I believe.) So, we knew that people fighting for Alex were absolutely fighting and will continue to fight extremely dirty and messy. I mean, I don’t like AM defense attorney however, he’s doing his job defending his client, and attempted/attempting to try and cast doubt, make holes, and again, unfairly fight.
