Her lawyers argued yesterday that they want the case thrown out because there’s no evidence that she wrote the op-Ed but she started with her testimony that she is there because her ex-husband is suing her for op-Ed that she wrote. She just said “..that I wrote.” I hope they caught that.

They have to make that argument at that point in the trial. It would be malpractice not to file a motion to dismiss when the plaintiff rest their case. They never expected that motion to pass. Keep in mind that they argued this motion without the jury present. They don't have to make the same argument in front of the judge that they are making in front of the jury.

re-watching this after the verdict.... it's funny how she has no idea how she's coming across. it's like she has no self awareness. when she's asked about her career and life, she has this look in her eyes of magic, fun, story telling and it's not really the vibe ANY victim would have, even as the subject is still on the lighter side. they are still sitting right in from of their abuser and knowing which questions are to come so already from the jump, i feel like she lost me. because she immediately gives off this vibe that does not match the situation. then she cues her fake non tears and it all goes to the pooper. I am so beyond relieved that the jury had the same gut reaction as me and most of us. i was so worried. alas there is still justice in this world.
@katiegriffin7597
@katiegriffin7597 Жыл бұрын
I agree, especially when you say it’s not how any victim would act. A lot of people are saying not all victims are the same and you don’t know how they will act, and I also believe that is true. However, while it’s impossible to determine how any victim WILL act, it’s also possible to say how any victim WON’T act. Every victim of DV and/or SA is different but no one who has gone through this should look as excited as she is to be up there.

I’ve seen comments from people who are confused as to why she talks about him, and the relationship in such a positive light at times. I believe she’s doing this to make it look like she’s defending her “abuser”. Which is what real victims tend to do at times, if she portrays him positively at times then she thinks it will make her look more a victim, and will also make her look like she isn’t trash talking him. She was 22 when they met and there were very few women on the planet who exceeded her beauty. For most the first requirement for a relationship, appearance, especially men. From what I've read and listened to, she seems sincere in her attempts to have him quit the drugs and alcohol. Certainly, that would indicate concern for his mental and physical health. And she allowed herself to become subservient to his desires. She acquiesced frequently. These are a number of reasons for a man to love a woman. Had he quit the drugs and booze there is a good chance they'd still be married. Unless they tired of each other which often happens in a marriage.

As a former victim of DV, I can tell that she is not a victim of DV. What she doesn’t realize is that the primary emotion that we deal with as victims, is SHAME. That is why these relationships are so hard to face up to and get out of. Amber performs how she IMAGINS a victim would feel, hurt and broken, but we tend to downplay rather than exadurate, and we tend to be much more distanced and short in descriptions because the mind doesn’t want to go there, yet Amber includes details like how dirty the carpet was. It tells me that she, as an actor, is imagining the scenario and is trying to put herself in that place, but that she has never actually experienced it. Also, it is EXTREMELY difficult for for the victim to look at the abuser, yet Amber stared Johnny down during his testimony, whilst he doesn’t even look up at her once.

When someone has PTSD, their brain will force harsh memories out of their brain to cope with them. When on trial, it’s hard to command your brain to recover them. I am someone with PTSD and an active court case. Absolutely she didn't come across well in the tapes that were open to the public and whom ever heard them could be in no doubt who was the aggressor and who was the victim but we have all known about jury's in the past and some of the time read or see a case entirely different than most, but surely in a room if amber is lying aswell as some embellished theories they will see thru all the BS to be perfectly honest
