This was retaliation after RIch and Idol had done this to Lawler weeks earlier. I remember how awesome this match was because Lawler finally had some real backup against Rich and Idol who kept ganging up on him every week. This was very early in Bam Bams career before that first WWF run. He had a long feud with Lawler in the summer of '86, left for several months then came back as his partner.

I was 12 and this was the greatest feud of the latter 80's Memphis era. It seemed to last most of 1987. Austin Idol and Tommy RIch vs Jerry Lawler at his peak. Bam Bam signed with WWF shortly after this match.

Evansville, Indiana. Veterans Memorial Coliseum every Wednesday night 8 pm. Good times for sure..Landell spit on a pregnant women while leaving the ring and my friend jumped over and punched Landell in the jaw, stunning him and cops running from everywhere. He got 90 days in Evansville jail.

This 1987 feud of Rich and Idol vs Jerry Lawler had Memphis and the whole territory on FIRE!. They booked this so well for over 6 consecutive months and milked every penny out of it perfectly. The house was packed every week across the circuit. The Mid South Colosseum in Memphis was rocking every Monday night.
