Lawn Boy Mower pulled saved from the trash. Can we save this one or is it beyond practical repair?

We found a Lawn Boy self propelled mower that we saved from the trash. It has a Briggs and Stratton Engine that has probably seen better days. Did it die of natural causes or lack of any maintenance? That is what we will be doing in this video. Is it worth saving and why did someone decide it was trash?

Originally, the quantum engines were designed back when the motors were turned head towards the back wheels. The air filter was originally on the left. But by the 90s newer revisions came out with better gas tanks. Also a deck spacer could be used to retrofit engine brands to old school decks. High vacuum decks didn't have enough room to reverse mount the engine and also fwd mowers became popular but need more weight in the front for traction. When the air filter is on the discharge side, it gets clogged up almost in minutes. I try to tape some foam AC filter around the side but it's a pain.

I have the same Briggs & Stratton and it also has a knock in it when I bought it I’m gonna put a new Rod in it

@Raymore Repair A little more oil in the crankcase & that Lawnboy would still be out there working hard.(Oil is always cheaper than a Engine) Thanks for sharing this video with us. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
