Lawn Bubble

After a downpour in Cambridge Springs, Pa I found this odd Lawn Bubble in my back yard. So strange but interesting. Contrary to popular belief. This is all natural, no membrane, no septic, and no broken water line. It was back to normal by evening. it happened in May of 2015 and has not happened since to my knowledge. Never happened in my area in Australia. It appears that this thing occurs mostly in areas that are more lush with more water, where the turf is very well kept and consistent, it appears to separate from the ground underneath, but all hold together because of how healthy the turf is, so it also happened on some golf courses, this is consistent that it occurs on a very homogenous well kept turf that forms this tight barrier, but also can separate from the soil.

About a year ago I was walking in the city with my mum, and when we passed by the large grassy area that events partake on, I pointed out the oblivious strangely shaped grass terrain that stuck out. I told my mum it was one of those grass water bubble things, and she didn't believe me and said it was strangely shaped grass. I walked over to it and touched it, and to our surprise, it was a grass water bubble thing. After messing around with it for a bit, we informed some officer looking guy about it, and we left.

Smart decision putting he Turf Police on the case! They'll get right to the bottom of it! 🚔 Here in the US, the Turf Police would first call for backup, then scream a bunch of contradicting commands at it with their guns drawn. When they get no response, one or two of them will taze it. I had this happen to me once. Basically under the grass was a concrete lid that was part of a old stormwater drainage pit. The water was sitting on top of the lid making the ground swell up.

"La la la, I'm a mole, diggin' my hole, look at me goooo!" This was the last thing that Moleson B. Jerry ever said before the incident happened. He was a handsome young mole who preferred to dig in calm, moist environments. He lived a simple life until *it* happened. One day he was looking around on the surface to find new places to dig and extend his home when he came across a large lump in the ground. He touched it, it felt soft. The grass was at just the right height, and the elevation made it to where he'd be able to scout for a large distance. It was perfect, so he found an especially soft spot and began to dig. Everything was fine at first, but suddenly the ground felt a little too moist. Water started coming up from his hole, but he figured that it was only a little bit. He dug some more, and saw that it did not stop. Suddenly, he fell in, and immediately began to struggle to breathe. He tried to swim up, but he had no experience in doing so and didn't end up moving much. The dirty water had gotten into his eyes, he was completely blinded. He felt the water as it entered his lungs - it hurt, and it was cold, he was cold.. he felt as though he couldn't move. He realized he was hopeless. He saw the signs, he knew it could be dangerous, but he chose to remain optimistic and would now lose everything for it. He thought of his children, his girlfriend, his hole near a tree that he dug so long ago.. and said goodbye. His only wish was that his girlfriend would be able to take good care of his children without him.

Same but I just read up what is the cause an I think this video gives it away. Some gardens have bad soil an the grass need to be sown on a stable layer of good soil. To do that you need to lay a layer or lining between the bad and the good. Ground water seeps upwards but the liner stops is from running away as per normal. You then get a blister or a zit. They can also contain gas if this was a landfill area. Back to the video I think he punctured the liner eventually in the correct place for it to BLOW. Weird but explainable. If you think about it any gravel pit that has been filled in with human junk has to have a liner put below and over the filled in area so that the contents don’t leach out into the natural water table. They then overlay the liner with a 6ft clay cap and then with soil. In the UK some of the former gravel pits have gas limiters on them to remove the methane that has built up under the cap. The reason for the gas is no one used to check what the hell went into these pits. It could be human waste, household rubbish, wooden furniture etc.. all of these are organic. When bacteria interacts you get methane gas as a result. But the liner here needs to be repaired if it is covering landfill as it will leach out whatever nasty under it.
