First, love your truck. I bought the 2016 GMC Canyon in red couple of years ago. Just had to have the heater core, carpeting replaced due to a leak. Repairs were under warranty, but still a pain as truck was down for six weeks. (In the winter). The truck pulls my 5 by 10 open trailer with no problem and it gets great gas mileage. I have a folding bed cover (Bacflip brand) that keeps my hand equipment dry and secure when I’m out mowing. I’m using a bed liner, but thinking about having a spray-on liner added this summer. I have been buying Echo trimmer system you are using. My problem with the Sthil system is the off switch. When I use the harness, it shuts the engine off if I get in a bind when working on a hill. I have an older Sthil trimmer, but it looks like the newer one may not have the same problem. I started buying the Echo line several years ago. I have the pole saw attachment, hedge trimmer, the edger, and trimmer. All I need now is one of the extensions. I also bought a new back blower late in the season late year for leaf cleanup. I purchased the Husqvarna trimmer harness ten years ago and I’m still use it. It is a back saver and I will not trim without it. I found that they still sell it on Amazon. I bought two new Sure-cans at the GIE show last year. Looking forward to using them this season. I have used the metal cans at work before. I always hated them because of the tops. Had to fill and hard to pour, but they were required. I also have an Areins 42” zero turn. The smaller mower makes it easy to get into smaller yards and it was affordable. I retired several years ago. I already had most of the equipment to take care of my own lawn so why not put them to use. Mowing a few yards in the summer helps keep me in shape and provides income to help feed my vices. Thanks for the videos.......

I got the package you sent me last Friday, thanks Brad. I agree with you on the Echo kill switch. I can't wait for the PB 8010 T to come out, the wait is killing me also for the STIHL BR 800 C, I like the Bob Cat Stander that you have, but where I live I'm very limited to only a few dealers and one of them is not a bobcat, the only dealers I have are Exmark and Walker, if I want a Wright or Scag I have to pretty much go to the next town over there's no bobcat dealer within a 50-mile radius.

Your truck and trailer setup is very professional looking and being a midsize truck and trailer combo much easier to get around residential areas with. Please keep the videos coming

You mentioned something about hot restarts? Mine has that promlem too. When it’s cold it starts right up and revs almost instantly. Come 1-2:00 when it’s 90-95 degrees and 8-10 yards in the thing is impossible to get going and it bogs like crazy. Had echo told you anything about this? Congratulations on the new truck and great video!
@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! Hot restarts have been with me both seasons across all my equipment. The bigger the motor, the less an issue for hot restarts I have found. I have just resigned myself to the fact that sometimes I have to crank it like crazy. They don't have a real fix for it, since the issue is the gas vaporizing and preventing the liquid from getting through the system like normal.

Thanks for the information! Guess I will just keep on cranking!

@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
We are in rural northeast Florida (which is practically the wild west compared to some of the British areas on laws around fly tipping) so it isn't a huge concern. Lawn clippings stay on the property to breakdown, hedge trimming clippings and other debris get set on the curb for the city to pick up (they have a guy in a flatbed truck for small piles and a dump truck with hydraulic arm for big piles), stuff too big for that you take to the local limb debris site, maybe 15 minute drive from most places.

Don't get me wrong, ECHO and STIHL both make great products. Locally, however, STIHL is only available at ACE hardware, which is (in my opinion) ALWAYS overpriced. My local dealer who sold my BOB-CAT mower also sells ECHO, and they have 20% off sales several times a year for ECHO which makes them easier to afford (again, my opinion only) than STIHL.

Man how can u afford all of this do u have a side job
@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
The business is self sustaining, and my wife's job covers the bills. So basically everything the business makes gets dumped back into it without having to take any out to live on. Makes things MUCH easier when it comes to getting equipment.

Do you write off a truck payment for taxes?
@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
If it is a truck used for business, it is tax deductible, yes. The truck is a depreciable expense. Depending on which schedule you pick you can write off the full amount of the truck year one or you can split an even amount over something like 4 or 5 years. Either way the number is based off the purchase price, your monthly truck payment doesn't factor into it.

Advertising a landscape trailer is great for business. But it's also advertising for thieves. Crooks don't break into trailers anymore they just steal the whole entire trailer. One minute all is good and your trailer is parked at home, inside garage or inside the storage place. 1 minute 30 seconds later it's outside on the road hitched up to a truck being stolen. It's just a matter of time before stuff is stolen.

all i see is $20K in credit card debt for all the equipment, the $300 a month trailer loan and the $550 a month truck loan. Company looks great but the debt is what nobody wants to talk about.
@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
Oh boy, way off base. Maybe I need to make a video addressing this! No debt on the company except truck and mowers. Truck is not $550 a month, I gave you the purchase price, so you can work out payments on various terms. Trailer was bought outright, BOB-CAT is ~$120 month, Big Dog is ~$65 a month. Thank you for watching and commenting!
