I love everything about your videos. I can see your attention to detail in every aspect... Not just the lawn, but the videoing, recording and editing. Its like ASMR in some places (which is a good thing - chills me right out). Pedro Salinas-Ruiz having a good Lawn cools your home by 30 percent. My mother in-law has artificial turf we can’t even stand on it barefoot because it’s to hot. Having grass also elements pollution in the air. And if you have pets it’s even worse to clean the artificial turf. Just saying

Replaced my cylinder mower when the service and sharpen costs were nearly as much as a new mower. Went with a rorary one next with a rear roller, same stripes and easy to sharpen or replace the blade myself.
@jamesianwright5324 жыл бұрын
Roy Soper I have drum rollers behind both my riding Club Cedet mower and a Ferris fairway reel mower I got for taking it away. Re built the engine myself however had the knifes and blades done professionally for free by a golf course in exchange for being able to use it while theirs was in the shop. When they found out I had rotating dethaching heads for it as well they almost would not return it. We have a deal. They get to use my unit with dethaching heads in exchange for them showing up each late June with the 4 inch deep by 6 inch apart plug aerators. I rent a small tractor rotating broom and a skid steer to clean up the plugs. I top dress with a sand and top soil mix. Over seed and in late July early August my lawns are back in business. Oh this gets done every three years.

Solid work cub fan 🤙two questions. How many times a month you use tenacity to keep weeds away? When is the best time to use fertilizer and how many applications per summer.
@ShortCutLawn4 жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍🏼 So far I’ve only used Tenacity as a pre-emergent during seeding/overseeding, I’ve never used it as a regular post emergent weed control, When to fertilize; easy rule to follow is to put it down during the weekend of major US holidays...Memorial Day on may, 4th of July, and Labor Day in early september.

Awesome. Just done a dethatching and oversees and 4 weeks on its looking good but I found there are a few patches where the compost still is. I covered a thin layer all over and raked in but seed just didn't take. I'm hoping it will grown in but if not I'll have to seed those little patches. Nothing too difficult. Does it sound like I did anything wrong. Seed coverage was all over in both directions and watered twice a day. UK weather rains alot too so not sure if at times it got too much water. One question, when you level does it push all the seed around too or is that not an issue, I guess from the end shots probably not. Like your homemade leveler, gonna make one too. Sorry for the essay. 😀
@ShortCutLawn5 жыл бұрын
Essay it was lol,.. sounds like you did everything alright, is it possible that the rain might have washed it out? Did you put down fertilizer when you overseeded? at times fertilizer could prevent the seeds from germinating if put down a little too heavy.
@ShortCutLawn5 жыл бұрын
The seeds are in between the existing grass and underneath the sand/compost mix so no, the leveler did not push the seeds around.

Awesome backyard layout! It looks so good!! Quick question... your planters by the wall/retaining walls ... are they held only by those blocks? Have they held alright during the years? I am thinking of doing about the same height but smaller depth with the wall or just building planters with those blocks at same height, however, everywhere I read it states that they will end up bowing for retaining wall since the water pressure will be too great. Since my idea wouldn't hold as much dirt as yours, i think its feasible but anyhow just trying to assess how have yours held so well instead of just coming down/bowing out?
@ShortCutLawn5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment Salvador 👍🏼 if the height of our retaining walls are about the same then we don’t have to worry about water pressure, if you you’re holding back a steep hill then yes, water pressure would be a huge issue. Regardless, I still build it as if i was holding back a hill, 6-8 inches of compacted baserock for a solid base, i buried 1 row of blocks, added 6-8 inches of gravel behind the blocks for proper drainage. Mine is only 15 months, it held the heavy rainy season we had this past winter. It didn’t dip nor bowed from all the water.
@NoRoads2AllRoads5 жыл бұрын
@@ShortCutLawn great. It looks amazing I just fear it might now ... From all I've read but I really don't feel like doing rebar and things like that just for a 3-4 ft planter. My lot is completely flat so it wouldn't be holding any dirt other than what's inside. The gravel behind sounds good... Do you channel the gravel water somewhere away with a pipe or just have the gravel in place? Also I assume it's 1/4" gravel and not pea gravel correct? Thanks for your reply. Love both your layout and grass too
@ShortCutLawn5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you already did your homework 😁 again if i was holding back a hill a corrugated pipe would be needed to channel the water, since I’m not i just let gravity do its thing. Yes it’s 1/4 gravel. If built properly you shouldn’t worry about bowing.
