People at work thought I was being funny when I said that a 12-hour lawnmower-in-the-distance KZbin video is one of the best for keeping focus and getting work done. Then one morning I turned it on at low volume without telling anyone. People quietly went to work and the atmosphere was weirdly peaceful. Not until lunch time did someone finally register that they'd been hearing the distant, calming sound of a Saturday morning in summer. Note: a lot of people freak out when the mower misses a spot during the 2nd hour - just stick with it because in hour 9 he comes back around to get it!

This is the most pleasant sound to me. I reminds me of my dad doing the lawn on the weekends. I've downloaded something similar to my phone to play if I'm away from my computer. Saturday mornings around where I live are gardeners that do the lawn in the adjacent building and, I open my windows to smell the cut grass and hear them working.

I love this sound, it's perfect in this video. The startup sound at the beginning makes it sound even more realistic. I like this more than normal white noise because with normal white noise, since its basically just the same sound over and over and over, it begins to mute itself in the background. Lawnmower sounds are more mixed, with sounds going up and down constantly, but never at the same rate of change. You can both feel lulled by the consistent mower sounds, and also not just completely drown out the sound from your brain because the sound keeps changing its volume or its pitch. It’s consistently inconsistent. It’s the perfect background filler sound for me. Vacuums have the same exact “consistent inconsistency” thing mowers have probably because they’re both manned by people and the noises they make depend on where humans go with them which are never the same movements.

That is a healthy lawnmower. Sounds like a Toro Time Master with a Briggs. Good choice for a lawn this size if you want to walk it. This person has fantastic cardio skills. Clearly no hills.
