The 30 year old mowers have 30 years left in them. The 3 year old mowers have at most 2 more years left. The cost accountants run things now, not the engineering department

Sometimes you luck out Mick could have easily been a parts mower. Gave a guy $10 Cdn credit on self propelled mower sale, his mower basically was completely disassembled and he said he did not know how to put it back together and thought everything was there. Took some time and a few missing bolts replaced, a total fuel system flush and carb clean plus all your basic tune up stuff. Turns out it is a commercial 8.75 self propelled Snapper which is now the personal mower of Eliminator Performance. Runs like a charm and can slow the speed right down to a slow walk for the OLD MAN just too old to trot! Keep er going Mate.

There are a few American riding mower models, my Craftsman among them, which have this problem, too. My brand new model's linkage started slipping soon after I bought it. A warranty repairman fixed it, and it again started slipping. After some frustration, I found the solution online and fixed it myself. It hasn't slipped at all since I fixed it, and I'm not that experienced in that kind of problem.

£70? Or $100 US? I would ask $125 with the expectation of $100 here in Michigan. Pluses - electric start, grass box, self propelled, and recent service/ every thing works as it should. Minuses - older, dinged up, bad paint. Your thoughts?

I’ve got a Mountfield with a similar engine. I tried moving the cable but to no avail. Ive just pushed the slide the last 5mm by hand for the last 17 years. Might try that little trick. My electric start will turn the engine but not start it. It will start by hand easily.

Hi Mick - Great video once again !. Just a small point, that choke cable had been incorrectly routed across the top of the exhaust silencer, until you re-routed it over the top at 7mins 40 secs !. The heat would do that cable no good at all. Cheers Mick - Love the content.
