You should concrete and rock pitch around the drain inlet to prevent ingress of soil and around the outlet to the dam to prevent scouring in heavy downpours. Can’t wait to see the final result
@peterhoz2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was going to mention that you'll get a lot of silt from the outflow into the dam, maybe lengthen the pipe so its over the waier if you don want to concrete, or use larger rocks. Looks good tho and doing its job!
@emmett30672 жыл бұрын
Should have drained from the road, and the pipe should have been much larger if it is to drain all that road surface. e.g. 150mm or 2 x 100mm. Need some concrete, rocks etc under the pipe so the soil doesn't scour when the water runs through the pipe into the dam.

It’s looking great Ben, I’ve been MIA for awhile and need to catch up on the rest of your videos to see what you’ve been doing around your home, we lost our little fur baby girl and I’ve been struggling without her, especially with hubby away so much with work, our home feels so empty without her, you’ll know that feeling now you’ve got a little fur baby, they have your heart unconditionally and take a big part of it when they cross the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge. Cheers from Nellie, we’re getting that rain 🌧 now from down south and we’ve got 45 bales of mulch getting delivered for the fruit trees garden 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️😢😢😢

Hey Ben looking good, being a Concretor, highly suggest doing a dish drain from the kerb to the pit with a surround splayed kerb at the pit, this will stop you getting that pipe cleaned out by a plumber every year👍 looking great keep up the cracking vids 👌
@dronevisionaus92422 жыл бұрын
Should put 1.5m or so of slotted agi in a loop around the pit and backfill with gravel to allow excess ground water to get into the pit... also a concrete headwall and a few rocks around the drain outlet would be a nice touch 👌
@dronevisionaus92422 жыл бұрын
Plus a pit next to your driveway running into that one will be alot neater and stop alot of sludge going into your dam and clogging up the drain... loving this series tho, im in the industry and this rain is relentless
@clint23362 жыл бұрын
Looks great. Many of us would have done things a little different, at the end of the day, as long as it does what you set out to achieve for your scenario, then all good. And it can always be modified later if need be.

Looks an absolute treat! What’s the reason for putting the pit next to the fence rather than right next to the driveway?
@LawnTips2 жыл бұрын
Just so it’s got more chance to collect the water to be honest. I was able to build a bit of a wall up behind the pit down there which I’d rather there than up the next to the road. Gives it a chance to hold a bit of water in that trench before the pit as well so if we get really heavy rain it won’t flood the pit out completely.
@merrettcontracting2 жыл бұрын
Very understandable! I knew there would be a reason and some thinking behind it
@MUY-BN2 жыл бұрын
Great project you are working on, I will enjoy watching the build. Really like what you've done to this point. The surface water drainage from the road concerns me. Other than the putting green perforated drain tiles, its not a good idea to have anything else under the putting surface. If that drain fails, you will have a mess on your hands. Along with others, I think that PVC pipe is way too small and probably the wrong product. If possible, redirect the drain around the green, with larger pipe.

Hey mate, just thought I’d ask did you lay the pipe the same as the test run? The pipe should be spun 180 other way around thing can catch on the lip flowing down hill and block the pipe. Just a tip for next time.

Hey Ben, completely unrelated to today’s video but I’d be keen to hear your thoughts on Tahoma 31, information is pretty scarce except from growers and Tahoma Australia. Kinda have to take their praise with a degree of scepticism as they are obviously selling it after all

100% do not put geo fabric over the pit grate - that’s the whole point of the pit. The fabric will clog up with leafs and crap and just be a bigger issue. Hopefully you put the drain pile 100mm or so from the bottom of the pit 😂🫣
