There are no words, hitherto existing in the tongues of man, that I know of, that could adequately describe the magnificence of the film itself. The music is perfect. The cinematography is perfect. The acting is perfect. This movie is beautiful.

@@rolandmiller5456 I don't know about that - Nolan has done a lot of action movies and though he is an incredibly skilled director, not everybody has a wide range of things they can do well. Something I remember best from Lawrence is the long panning shots over the desert sunrise, Lawrence himself only a pinprick on the vast ocean of sand, while the main soundtrack swells... for a full two to three minutes. I don't know whether it's Nolan's style to have that long of a pause filled with nothing but wonderment for the beauty of one's surroundings; from what I've seen of his work he tends to make pretty snappy dialogue and action sequences. Everything moves along very efficiently.

@Löwenherz Hendrik he did not betray them at all. He in fact betrayed England by telling Prince Faisal about the Sykes-Picot Treaty which was classified information. He advocated for Arab independence at the Paris Peace Conference and turned down a knighthood in protest of Britain’s betrayal of its promises to Arabia. Letters of his have been uncovered that express his absolute outrage at the actions of the British in the Middle East.

NO CGI ! That's an unbelievable number of men, horses and camels in scene after scene after scene. Moderm movie directors could not even begin to plan and execute such complicated scenes.

You should take a look at Bondarchuk's War And Peace, it's phenomenal. Every battle scene looks like it was filmed right when it occured. They had 15.000 men to film it

Regardless of the interpretation of historical facts, this is a work that has elevated film to the level of art. David Lean and Maurice Jarre have made great contributions. The entire film is live-action and the images are stunningly beautiful, and the performances of the twisted relationship between Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif are excellent. The highlight is that Lawrence is not perceived as a hero.

When this film came out, I was in our exceptional high school orchestra playing french horn. I watched this film at least six times back then and dozens more times since. The score and story are mesmerizing. I've read T.E. Lawrence's books, "Revolt in the Desert", was my favorite. If you are ever visiting the UK, plan to visit his home. I hope that it isn't destroyed as you never know given the situation that's going on over there right now.

I absolutely love these videos, HD FILm Tributes of movie themes. They don't make movies like these anymore. Too much political sensitivity. Plus the younger movie directors and producers lack imagination. Everything seems to be to cash in on "superheroes" megabucks. This is done at the expense of creativity. Sad

Esta pelicula fue la primera vez que fui al Cine por tanto el primer film de mi vida solo tenia cinco añitos en 1961 , era un re- estreno como se hacia antes en los cines ; quede impactado ,no lo podia creer , era magico ,desde ahi amo las salas de cine y el cine claro ; fue aca en Lima en una sala (cine) que estava en la primera cuadra del Jr. Moquegua en el centro de la ciudad. Antes de la Pelicula proyectaban varios cortos y seriales y el infantable "El Mundo al Instante" de noticias y curiocidades .Ir al cine era entrar a otro mundo.Saludos.

I grew up in Arabia (American) in the Aramco oil camps when this movie came out. (We saw the movie when out on vacation in Beirut or USA). Us boys in the camps never played cowboys and Indians!! We wanted to be desert-wise and wild Bedouin!!

It was Roger Ebert that singled out Lawrence of Arabia when he had to make a comparison for his review of Woman in the Dunes, for nothing else had captured sand in quite the same way. And, 60 plus years later, nothing since has.
