My late mother grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She never said "ni/ther," "i/ther" or "po/tah/to." She always said "ne/ther," "e/ther," and "po/ta/to." I learned from her to never go by stereotypes. I also want to point out that my mother was full English and she was definitely not snobbish. She had a heart of gold 💛. She was a college English teacher and she always went out of her way to make her students feel at home. On the first day of class, she had each student tell her about his or her home life to get that student to not feel nervous. Most of her students looked at my mother like she was their mother. She gave each student the grade that he or she earned. That caused some students on rare occasions to not like her. I grew up with 3 autoimmune diseases and my mother really helped me out emotionally a lot. I became a born again Christian when I was 6 years old in November 1963. That helped a lot too.

I love this show and most of the 79-80 season, I think one of their best seasons. The opening and closing number are great, and how can you top Bob Havens

I have a 1966 episode to upload next, which features Bob Havens on marimba! I guess I didn’t know he played that as well. Duet with Jack Imel.

Gail is so very talented. Her piano technique is immaculate. They wheeled out the concert grand for her, I noticed!

@@Traveler1965 I’ve got an episode of her playing Joann’s old upright, and she totally does the Joann Castle schtick, foot-tapping and eye contact and smile and the camera!
