@@TheSlantedLens I review mens grooming products and allot of it comes in small tins and I have a hard time making that interesting for B role or photo. I also am wondering how you would light something like lather on a shave brush as it keeps blowing out on me and you can't tell what it is.. also lighting for a small area would be nice as well. if you're wondering what I'm talking about check my page and website for what I am getting.. thanks and can't wait to learn more about this from you!

This is one of the most educational series on the mechanics of photography I've seen. I find that this and the others are ones I need to review from time to time. One thing, why not develop a course on product photography. I have and enjoy the food photography course, but my interest lean more toward product imaging.

I really enjoy your videos! They're super informative! Anyhow, I wonder if you can provide a bit of advice for me. I have a jewelry business and I do most of my own product photography, especially the white background types of shots. I'm in the process of upgrading my photography gear to make my life easier (my goal is less time spent in post processing). Since I'm upgrading the gear anyway, I'd like to find a setup that allows me to shoot product photos as well as some simple but nice looking videos for social media (talking head, process videos, etc.). I'm typically good with investing a little bit of money up front for well made items that will serve me for years, but I only have a medium size bedroom in which everything will live, so I can't have tons of gear. If you were to recommend one (or possibly two) lights and parabolic softboxes that would serve both of my purposes well, what would you recommend? Thank you in advance for your help!

When you put your cards in to fill, the glossy surfaces show your card. Do you edit those out after, move the cards so they aren't noticeable, or do you not care that they are in your subject matter?
@TheSlantedLens

We would remove them in photoshop. Another thing that you can do is to spray your shiny objects with dulling spray if you don't want things reflecting.

Do you have any videos that show how to light reflective objects with indirect light? So maybe the softbox on white wall to light objects as opposed to it aiming directly at it including fill cards. Thanks!!

The Slanted Lens I just was wondering if you had any content on using indirect light to shoot reflective objects. Example: using a fill card to light a toaster or using a big white wall to light a car. So the light would be flagged off from main subject and hitting it by bouncing off something. It was a class assignment. Thanks!
@michelleoreilly6314
@michelleoreilly6314 Жыл бұрын
But when you put the foam boards to the side for light bounce you can SEE it in the reflection. And I don't want to do anything in post. No editing.
