Here is a video on a little Lawson Cypress I picked up for about $5. I planned on doing a forest style with it, but ended up having to do a clump style. A good example of when things don't go quite as planned.

I actually really like this! It's unique instead of a boring old forest although it would be neat to have!

Fantastic and challenging material! I posted a recent vid: split the trunk on one and planted a mini forest - so we'll see 👀 Also, pulled a stem from a clump for a single trunk "Dragon" mame bonsai. Thanks for sharing budget friendly projects 👍🏻

Thank you! And I'll check out your video on these. I was sort of at a loss on which direction to go with it.

I saw some of these in a big box store but they seemed really dried out so I passed on them thinking they were already the way of the Dodo which is a shame because they had a nice shape to them...Eager to see your progress with them, keep us updated...Great content and thanks foe sharing...

Oscar is a very fitting name. Sheffy's cousin

I couldn't decide between Oscar, or the Grinch. Is "The Grinch" even his name? Sounds more like a title. This is what keeps me up at night.

I think getting the trunks more upright would make it more realistic. Happy 2025!

You think more like a 45 degree(ish) angle?

I'm so antsy to see if the potted sticks I have outside survive winter. I couldn't justify bringing them in for the cold months, especially since everything out there grows in my area naturally. I really like the vision you have for this clump. I had a feeling that was going to be the case.

Thank you! And yeah I felt kind of silly because it seemed so obvious that it would turn out all being connected. I kind of waltzed into it without a ton of thought, and that's what I get! Good luck on your cuttings!

Conifer and most deciduous NEED the cold months to go dormant. Absolutely don't bring it inside. It'll be fine, just insulate the pot, as the roots are the main thing to protect.

Hello! Just bought one as well and now I wonder what should I do with it. Probably gonna repot it this week. Outdoor temperature can drop to about -8 Celsius at night. Should I leave it outdoors? Or let it be in a house for winter? Thanks in advance.

@@ПавлоЛарін Hi there! If you do repot it, I would keep indoors til spring. However, it's definitely safer to wait till spring to repot. I know I sound like a hypocrite because I just did it in my video lol. But, I have a indoor grow tent with grow lights and everything so that kind of helps me get away with it. As far as styling goes, there are probably some better examples out there than the one I just did. I'm probably less familiar with this type of tree than I am all my others. Sorry im not much help 😞

@ Got it! Than gonna repot it early spring, when it 100% won’t die outdoors. Hope i’ll manage to keep it alive indoors till spring 😂. Anyway, thanks a lot!

Why dont you put rooting hormone on the bass of ech trunk, pack moss around the basses and pack soil up around them and get each trunk to grow roots....tada! Cypress forest.....
