I would sue the school and that kids family this is why behavioral therapy is necessary for kids who have extreme behavioral issues because as they get bigger they get stronger and more violent even if the kid was cognitively at the level of a toddler still they need to have that behavior under control because they can seriously hurt people and it isn’t cute or safe

this is why certain students need to be placed in institutions, but we closed those down, that was one of the worse things this country has done, s get rid of those and send these people out into the community in the name of '' inclusion''. no, there are people who need to be in a self contained facility, yes they had a lot of abuse and neglect, fix the problems within them and eir programs, dont get rid of them.

The Lanterman Act passed in California in 1969, basically shutting down institutionalization of persons with disabilities. Then in 1990 Congress passed Public law 94-142 which later became known as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. IDEA… states among other things, that all students are entitled to a free, appropriate education in the least restrictive environment. Keywords: appropriate education and least restrictive environment Many states and school districts are pushing for full 100% inclusion of all students and trying to do away with the special education classrooms as separate environments. But one really needs to question whether or not this student with violent behaviors was placed appropriately. Was this the least restrictive environment for him? Sounds like he needs a learning environment with far more supports to keep himself, other students and the staff who work with him, safe. There are so many violations happening in this situation. Workers have a right to a safe environment (OSHA). Students have a right to safe schools and learning environments (Willams Act). Stop hoarding the money that has been allocated for the students. Allow it to actually make it to the classroom, so there is enough support to manage these type of behaviors. Or spend the $$$ and get the kid out of public school and into a safer environment for all. 😢 Sounds expensive? You betcha1:1 behavioral support aides and/or placement in more restrictive non-public school programs (NPS) are very expensive and cost the District $$$. Follow the money-always. How very sad for this man and his family. A tragic, unnecessary, preventable loss of life. 😢

Truly, there is no "safe place" on the planet, but folks are tuned to complacency...in other words, you take your chances every second you live..

This isn’t the administration’s fault it’s the parents of the aggressor. Maybe stop blaming an education system for bad parenting?

Do you think the parents taught retardation? Would you prefer a different special ed class so a different teacher gets the beats? Administration could have at least said something

@@LueyLoca that’s not an administrative issue. That’s a no home training one
