As someone who has a slight obsession with the titanic since I was in the 5th grade, I would never step foot on the submarine for multiple reasons #1 being that controller. Its literally the first thing I said when I saw what ran it. Its a 10+year old controller with known disconnection problems. With the amount of money each of these men were worth you'd think they would have a little more common sense.

Waivers aren't airtight (so to speak). You can't accept risks you aren't aware of, for example, which is why many jurisdictions don't recognize product defect waivers

@@glo1168 the Logitech controller is known for disconnect issues (which Stocktonhad issues with before). If the controller disconnected and they dove too rapidly it could have been a factor. The leaked logs indicate a abnormallly rapid dive according to the timestamps and depth reports. The issue was a crunching noise they heard so they abandoned the decent. The tail cap that held the electronics apparently got a leak becase they reported no issues but would not confirm depth. After minutes of being asked surface confirmed depth and they made around 60 feet of progress in way to much time (like they were overloaded with the tail cap filling up) they dropped equipment and the brace but still made no progress and eventually started sinking again. More reports of crunching noise then the navy reported the implosion. The transcripts were broken down and the depth and reports in it do add up. The carbon fiber weakened with repeated dives and gave way. Either way corners were cut and it was unsafe. But the occupants signed a waiver releasing liability
