Something that didn't get much covering about Yuki is the fact that during last year's floods in Italy, when Imola got cancelled, he went out in the streets of Faenza, knees deep in mud to help clean the town with a shovel, what a guy

This made me gain even more respect for him. I remember seeing the photos clear as day and it made my heart sing! He was also one of the only drivers to help out in the flood instead of just posting pics about it on Instagram like the other drivers did.

Thanks for sharing this. It’s a fact I was, until now, totally unaware of. It’s also a fact that surprises me not at all. It says much about the guy and his values. While I’m on the subject I feel compelled to mention how far he has progressed as a driver. I say this as a big fan of DR but it’s a massive shame he’s found himself in his current position. That being with all the love DR receives and along with Marco’s obvious dislike for the man he’s not dropped lucky has he? I honestly believe that if given the correct environment, he’d only mature and improve further and ultimately prove himself a true asset to any team that can see his future value.

My boy Tsunoda getting glazed feelsgoodman. Also worth pointing out: Tsunoda has not only qualified higher than Ricciardo every race this season, he's also qualified higher than Stroll every race. And beaten Stroll, on the road, in half of the races. And he holds seven out of the eleven points held between the bottom five teams combined. Right now, Red Bull is running Verstappen Verstappen on the pointy end and Mini Verstappen in the midfield.

I think the Red Bull environment has exacerbated Yuki’s proneness to outbursts. He probably has had the toughest task of any driver in terms of how many teammates RB are throwing at him to gauge his ability and the constant need for him to prove his worth. I think he’s done remarkably well to seemingly have a very good relationship with all 4 of his teammates and in the past two years he’s done a very good job in proving himself with consistent performances against drivers who themselves (and others) expected to beat him. For the first time in his career, I believe he’s battling for a better F1 seat rather than fighting to keep a seat so kudos to him.

I think so far, Yuki is definitely a top 1/3 of the field driver so far this season. Seriously. Ignore everything else that's happened before this year, and just look at how he performs against his teammate and based on how well we expect the car to do. He's absolutely crushing it. Way outperforming expectations. We're only 4 races in, but if he keeps it up....

Tsunoda improving is nice to see because he is silent about it. Sargeant, at the start of the season, talked a lot about having improved his fitness regime. However, Sargeant still has concentration issues and is getting shafted by the team. So, yeah, maybe Tsunoda is one of the few top 10-20 drivers who is actually improving, while the others act entitled, desperate, comfortable.

As long as Honda is in F1, Yuki has a seat. If you view the complete history of Japanese F1 drivers, Honda has a signing condition of a Japanese driver on the team. That is once the Honda engine is a desired option, which it is now. I don't know how this plays out for Yuki when RB drops Honda. Aston Martin, or does the (Visa, Maxi Tampon, Minardi, Hugo Boss, Cash App, Red Bull, Toro Roso) team still retain Honda power?

@@chrisccc22 well this didn't age well. Aston Martin Honda will go with Alonso, Stroll. Also Kobayashi is not a Honda driver, and he kept his seat long after Toyota left. You do realise Japanese drivers are often there on merit? Although yes, many in the 80s,90s were pay drivers.
@chrisccc22
@chrisccc22 7 ай бұрын
@@JS-te2vj Agreed. Merit and money always goes far in F1. I know for a fact Honda will not let Yuki slide. If they are serious about an F1 partnership. Contracts are worthless in F1. How did Kamui get that Sauber "BMW*" seat again? Toyota made sure he got it with the re-purchase deal with Sauber and the FIA. He brought upwards of $10m in funds. Where did he end up going with his career? He's been with Toyota his entire racing career. You just don't know it. There is no such thing as getting into F1 on "Merit". Keep talking about the "Merit" thing while stars sit out while Lance stays in.

If I was Audi, my target would be Yuki and Sainz, that would be a massive win. Both are exciting, reliable, good combo of youth and experience and give you the best chance to win the midfield battle their first few seasons. Not sure if Sainz would want to waste him prime years in the midfield to build the team for a young gun later on.

@3:53 I agree completely. De Vries was offered the 2023 rookie seat at Williams and should have taken it. He'd have been joining that season having already scored points for that garage, giving an untold confidence boost and faith for the team to have in him, plus vowles was starting 2023 too, having both previously been with Mercedes so no doubt both were familiar with each other and that could have made for better team and car development, nyck would have known what the expectations are. He'd have been given time and patience, unlike his hornets nest experience at redbull. We'll never know now sadly.

In his 3rd he beat Nick and Ricciardo, and was unclear between him and Lawson. Now his 4th and he his beating Ricciardo. So yeah he is a very capable F1 driver.

Yeah saying he doesn't deserve to be in F1 is just silly. I don't think he will ever be one of the best on the grid, also wouldn't be shocked if he never gets a seat in a top team, but struggling for 2 seasons doesn't make you a bad driver. Even not setting the world alight for the rest of your career doesn't make you bad. I still think he has potential to maybe become a number 2.

It is tough to be a Ricciardo fan this season and to be fair he is highly underperforming. Everybody gonna reply me saying that he is washed, should be out and should be in indy or nascar and that I am delusional. It may even be his last season in formula 1 . But I will never lose hope and I wish and pray that he will return and return strong. I got into f1 because of him and was hooked to it because of him. Life is really bad right now for me both mentally and physically, but it is fine because every little Ricciardo victory, even him being 0.055 seconds off q3 in Suzuka, seems like something huge and positive has happened in my life. It motivates me, it boosts me to do good in life and to come out of the rabbithole I am in rn. To everyone saying that there is no place for a a PR only smiling driver, I respect your opinion and if somehow Ric reads this, man I will always be a fan an supporter of yours even if you retire or are fired because the amount of joy I have felt just watching you and your shoeys, your late brakes, overtakes and your smiles is immeasurable and I cannot describe it. I've always been a big fan of Yuki so I'm really happy to see him finally in the spotlight. I was watching him closely last year as it was, but even more so now because he is one of the most scrutinised drivers (with Daniel) and because the media is having a field day with that RB team. I've been really happy since the Suzuka race and I'm really happy to see so many pages on Instagram and youtube showing support for him. Up and onwards, Yuki! 🤍💙

Consistency is Yuki's friend. He has positioned himself as a plausible 2nd to Max at RB were they to drop Checo (and why would they do that given his results so far?). He's taken responsibility for his blowout at Bahrain whereas his clueless partner spins out, blows quali laps and causes first lap crashes while blaming the chassis (!!) for his ineptitude.

Rewatching this video and can confirm Tsunoda is still driving Danny into the weeds 😢. The way this is playing out, I see Checo keeping his seat, and unfortunately Ricciardo loses out to Lawson. I think Tsunoda’s time is up at VCARB once Honda moves to Aston Martin. Considering his performances of late it seems he has indeed turned a corner. Maybe with Aston’s big sponsors breathing down their neck for results, could 2025 be Stroll’s last year and Tsunoda and Alonso take the team to greater heights 🤔

i think a lot yuki's character that many ppl think of is what DTS provided, and what their YT channel puts out but what we really dont see is that even despite not really enjoying training sessions he does put in the effort and dedicates a lot of his time to improve. tbh from watching many of his lives, he has done fairly well if not for situational downfalls like his car DNFing or track things. yuki does have his moments with his temper and poor choices but its a little sad how not everybody can see his potential and only look at him as some cute dude that does hilarious shit...i think in general pl are opening their eyes but i hope yuki continues to improve. tbh his improvement is slow but surely there, to me that is so much more interesting rather than immediately seeing a driver do well the moment they enter. bringing in Pierre Gasly, i think Gasly saw his potential and they had proper talks on how to improve his attitude too, he has really good and fun relationships with who work with him. He is learning and willing to learn

DTS Season 1 convinced a whole generation of new F1 fans that Danny is the second coming. He is a marketing powerhouse and will be fine moving on to something else. I don't believe he would have been happy as the Red Bull number 2.

To add to the discussion about Ricciardo's putting in a De Vries re-run, F1 Visualized put out a race position heat map for the first four rounds and it was fairly illuminating. Especially interesting was that Ricciardo's average position was further back from Yuki (15.09 to 11.19, +3.9) than Sargeant's gap to Albon (16.81 to 13.02, +3.79). When you consider the fact that Ricciardo's stat is slightly inflated (and Yuki's deflated) by the team orders in Bahrain, it really becomes rather shocking imo. I don't care how much Horner likes Daniel, it can't be enough to excuse this performance when you've got a proven driver in Lawson waiting in the wings

Yuki must to leave Racing Bulls, because I think Red Bull system is so brutal.... and they won't give a chance in the principal team, so I think Honda will preserve it... so "Toc toc, Dad Stroll..... we give our engine but Yuki will be a driver in Aston Martin."

Considering the team has gone through a complete rebrand, RBR hasn’t promoted a driver from them since Ricciardo, Why should we consider VCARB a junior team? Why is it so bad for Tsunoda to just stay there and be on an outright team leader?

I don't know if it was Lawson performing almost on his level out of the box, or the fear that Ricciardo could switch back on and possibly outclass him, but something clicked in Yuki and we're seeing him as a much more complete driver this season. Was Yuki good last season? Sure. But I still maintain Lawson being able to jump in and do the job almost, if not equally as well, doesn't quite show Yuki in the best light as an individual driver. Ditto him only going tit for tat with a healing, still fresh out of retirement Ricciardo. But this season? Definitive speed, consistency, and having a good lead in the inter-team battle after just the first few races? This is proper Yuki 2.0.
