I lived in NY for undergrad and came up from the south similar to you. The one thing I can say is that the highs are very high but the lows are so low and sometimes you just gotta force yourself to get up and stick to a routine regardless of the weather or the inconvenience of not having a car. I think NY is one of those places that NO ONE should live in forever but it does teach you so much and it has a really nice hustle vibe that I don’t see as often living in the south - I tried to use this as motivation to work harder. All this to say that I totally related to you when you were like 😵‍💫 about being in NY and not having a car bc it is a normal feeling. Spend a lot of your summer in Brooklyn, way less overwhelming, more relatable culture, better food etc. ❤❤ and I LOVE the lawyer diaries 💕💕

Career wise NYC is the place to be. As a born and raised Brooklynite, NYC can be overwhelming (seasonal depression, crime, cost of living) but once the spring/summer hits all of your worries goes right out the window. LOL Love your vlogs ❣

NYC is really a tough city to live in. Since I moved back to the Caribbean in 2013 I have not set foot in NYC since. The seasonal depression was too real for me, but I'm forever grateful for the learning experiences, opportunities and connections I made there. You'll know when it's time to move on, but for now keep pushing! "I am peace with myself and everything that surrounds me."

I completely agree. When I moved to NYC it was a struggle just learning to navigate the city and especially transit but I literally stopped taking the train and walked more and took the buses a lot of places and it made a huge difference in how I experienced the city.

Been NYC for 20 years, I no longer take the trains, If I need to set aside money it has gotten really bad. If you can walk it bike or uber. Thankfully most places are so close in NYC.

Thanks a blessed position to be in! Many times for me the train is quicker and it’s so much cheaper than ubering everywhere. Chiillee my motto is just keep your head on a swivel, be aware of your surroundings and for me I pray 🤷🏾‍♀️
