Dear Me. Gatete, the "self imposed " weakness of the CS is not about lack of demonstration as you put it it's about it's failure to take advantage of the right political environment, unlike in many other countries. In my interview, my study conclusion recommends a dialogue approach as opposed to confrontation. I am a big advocate of dialogue as you know me. This is why the advocacy I have lead in Rwanda on land for almost 30 years has been very successful.

The CS "self imposed" weakness is about making itself fragmented, failing to be united, creating mechanisms & structures that diving itself; the weaknesses of failing to organise and coordinate itself. Pls listen to my interview on Long Form.

Apologies but what Gatete is saying is not making sense to me. If the office of the president makes sure to inform the public of its achievements, and so does different ministries, organizations, districts... why can't the civil society do the same?

Getete NO civil society should not play by Government’s book rather taking Government accountable.

I disagree with the idea that all women who carry a child wouldn’t want to give them up. As a former fertility nurse, I’ve seen surrogates go through extensive assessments, including psychological ones, before being chosen. The same applies to egg and sperm donors. Most do this to help others, and it’s scientifically impossible for a surrogate’s DNA to mix with the individual’s embryo. Gatete should fact-check before spreading misinformation. While surrogacy is a luxury and not accessible to everyone, it is a human right for the parents, the baby, and the surrogate.

Civil society?!!!…what have to do with the government???…the constitution??!!…weird…sounds like ratatouille or kind of…Gatete the civil society refracts the behavior of the society not of the government because this last is temporary. The right of freedom of speech, the reunion, of expression, etc…we know dmn well that it is not and will never be applicable in today Rwanda for the obvious reasons…don’t struggles trying to expose the impossible
