This was probably one of the easiest cases to argue in his career - the fact AJ had the front to attack the jury on his show mid trial truly blows my mind
@keithmartin39142 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with what he did at all but what I am saying is he did not get a fair trial he did not get a jury of his peers to see if he was guilty or innocent maybe it's a rate to guilty please the judge did that is not the way a quarter all works when you're on a jury people have brought this up over and over even lawyers that's what bothers me the most Sandy Hook was a tragedy and I'm sorry for the loss but there's some low budget KZbinrs that probably said something around the same thing you got to see them too now only that you're entitled to a fair trial of your peers that's all I'm saying I'm not saying he's right or wrong with scares me is the overreach of a judge just think if you were innocent and this judge just went ahead and made you guilty and you didn't have a chance to prove yourself that's scary
@Jack291512 жыл бұрын

@@keithmartin3914 what I am saying is he did not get a fair trial he did not get a jury of his peers to see if he was guilty or innocent He didn't comply with court orders. He didn't show up for an ordered deposition. He did everything he could to stop the trial occurring for YEARS. That is why the judge finally issued the default judgement. If he had OBEYED THE LEGAL COURT ORDERS this would have been over years ago and in front of a jury. This is a civil case and only requires the preponderance of evidence which his doing everything he could to avoid the trial and providing evidence makes him look guilty enough for a civil trial. So it is Jones fault that the default judgement was issued instead of a jury trial. But he did have one for the penalties and that totals almost $50 million. More trials to come. Be interesting to see if he continues to stall or cooperates with the other trials court orders.

Pro-AJ posters here seem to know very little about the details of exactly what Infowars did to claim repeatedly that these families were lying or mistaken about their own tragedies, or the utter insanity of some of their reporting. The families asked them to stop and they would not stop. And the object was *not* to uncover the Truth, but to monetize the b.s. Infowars was shoveling out. If you care about true justice and fairness then you must recognize and concede that the damages awarded are not justified and are excessive. Yes, the plaintiff proved that he told a lie via a theory that most people didnt take a statement of fact, but the Plaintiffs still failed to show how AJ is accountable for the actions of others when he never encouraged that sort of violence. The liberal ideology is that lies incite violence and those who tell lies are responsible for people who acted criminally due to the lies. Hmm let's keep our eyes on this case. When we have proof of lies we normally change what they said. Those historians aren't on trial though. Alex Jones is, he is definitely not a historian. We have proof of his lies, you can say what you want, but you must accept the responsibility of your speech.

Jones should not have defamed the victims parents...he should pay for the damage he caused...this lawyer wants more...he obviously knows jones pretty good to have formed such a strong hatred for jones....I think jones is fine as long as he is not defaming people. (ie) 1st amendment... people that get so filled with hate that they can't tolerate others views need to look inward to discover the reason for their feelings.

In my entire life, as much as I cant stand CNN, they've never done anything as bad as Alex Jones. He needs to have his show taken off the air......I'm glad the verdicts came in guilty. Jones should be stripped of his wealth over this. essentially, he will lose most of it.🤮🤮🤮

Unfortunately, not on this case alone. Texas has a cap on punitive damages and will probably knock it down substantially. Also, Jones is lively worth more than $270 mil. The forensic accountant said that they knew there was more because the financial figures didn't add up, and that something was noted in the financial documents, but Defense objected and he couldn't elaborate any further.
