Lawyers argue over authenticity of Hunter Biden laptop

Hunter Biden appeared in a Delaware court Friday for the final hearing before his federal firearms trial in June. Biden's lawyers and prosecutors discussed the presented evidence and the witnesses they planned to call. CBS News Justice Department reporter Rob Legare has the details from Wilmington.

The problem is chain of custody and the fact that at least one person had access to the files prior to the laptop going into custody. Did this person change the files? Did the person allow others access to the computer? A forensic evaluation of the computer can answer the question

It was dropped off and was handed over to law enforcement, saying that there might be questions about the authenticity, there that the prosecutors oversight of the big plan to use that and the judge said that she decided when she sees it as the trial begins. Hunter has already admitted that it’s his laptop. When questioned about the text that were on it he responded “I have no Idea what I meant by that text, I know I sent it but I don’t remember what I said because I was high”. The funny thing is the guy responded with “Understood, I’ll get right on it”. That does not sound like a guy who “doesn’t know what he was talking about” or “sent to the wrong person”. The texts are his, the WhatsApp is his. The only other explanation is that it was his girlfriend’s laptop and he logged into WhatsApp on her computer. But that doesn’t make sense because there were thousands of files and folders marked with family names like “Dad” or “uncle”. Who else would have a laptop with folders entitled “uncle James” with photos of James Biden in them? His sister maybe?
