29 convictions by age 18? UK needs habitual criminal sentencing. Give me a break.

Matt Kustom Kostumes or maybe the UK needs to focus more on rehabilitation rather than just shoving young criminals in prison.

@@OkayMay749 Oh, bollocks to "rehabilitation". Once the 29-offences criminal is in prison, he can't commit any more crimes. His neighbourhood can breathe easy for a while.

It's always interesting to notice the differences between Brit law and the system here in the US where I live. Here, a lawyer would never ask a client if he is guilty. If the client were to say yes, the lawyer could not enter a plea of not guilty. He would probably ask the judge to be dismissed from the case for some vague reason. Also, all that "no comment" stuff doesn't happen. As soon as the suspect utters "lawyer" or "fifth amendment", the cops must end the interview.

The Bill of Rights is unique to the US. In other countries youre basically guilty as soon as arrested and most prove your innocence.

many prisons in the us are privately run, and have contracts with states that include filling a number of beds. if these are not filled, then the state pays and compensates the privately run prison with money; therefore the state and prosecution and pressed with getting a high number of people behind bars for multiple years. there isn' t any justice in this, only profit, at the expensive of the law

The lawyers never have to risk their lives catching scum. They hide behind their alarm systems and security guards whilst constantly criticizing those who face danger on a daily basis. Their mantra surely must be "kid gloves treatment, free to go, back in court again soon, repeat fat fees for us, repeat fees, repeat fees, repeat fees...............

As much as I would love to be, I couldn't be a lawyer. Defending the genuinely innocent that are caught up in things they cant help then I will defend to the death. But those that are guilty and make a habit of being so especially, I couldn't. I would do my job but honestly, I wouldn't put much effort in for them. Anyways, do hire me! 😬 I give 50% off on all none violent crimes and if your guilty as sin that only reduces your bill down to just £10k an hour! However if you are innocent you get me for just £1 a day and a little smiley sticker for being a great citizen! ✊🏽😎✊🏽

I wish there was a law that required defense attorneys to swear on whether or not they believe their client and tell the court their belief, and that if their client confesses to them, they MUST tell the court. Defense attorneys who lie for dirtbags are themselves bigger dirtbags.
