These A-380s are rather addicting...they draw your attention like a magnate...when these big boys come in over In N Out burger in Westchester...everyone turns their attention to these birds. This is fun stuff to shoot...thanks for giving this a look-about, Jay...Lare

That is the beauty of living close (right across the street, actually) to a big airport such as this one. Lots of A-380s coming and going...from the Lufthansa's to the Air France's to the Qantas's...and sometimes they takeoff on runway 25L which puts their climb almost right over the top of where we live...and they are so quiet when they takeoff...it is just amazing...whoa!! And then...a spotter will tip you off as to the existence of an airline schedule for LAX...and then a lot of guess-ta-mating as to when what airline is taking off and what plane it is suddenly became easy as flying autopilot....like in the case of knowing exactly when the Qantas A-380 is coming in from Melbourne...and what runway...now you can plan the time and place and go get it. My wife and I really lucked out...getting into the place we did...where we did. We were warned about the loud noise of the airport...but...you know what...in time you get used to it. You'll hear a gate slam over the roar of a MD80 screeching for altitude off the runway...ha. Lare

A-380s are so much fun to videotape...slow...graceful...dominating...and at In N Out Burger...a popular place to spot at LAX...almost everyone eagerly awaits the Air France...I can't tell you why unless you've watched one of these AF A-380s fly right over your head...then...it all snaps into focus...these are just beautiful birds to watch...Lare

Hi James...one of the great perks about living right next door to LAX is being close to the variety of locations to spot from...as well as videotaping. I am very lucky to be able to get to these places and capture what I can get...and the beauty of it is...if you didn’t get the precise shot you wanted the first time...be patient...stay put...because as busy as LAX is...you’ll get another shot at it within a couple of minutes...thanks so much for the comment...I really appreciate it...Lare

Thanks for the kind comments, mate. I had accumulated an entire herd of clips n shots while putting together the first LAX piece...and so I thought, 'Hey...let's put some of those clips to use.' This was just pure fun to do on the timeline. As far as airside...well...I had a little help, there. Thanks again...Lare

Hi Zach...By a stroke of luck I got escorted onto the tarmac a couple of times. And I was fortunate to be able to grab the shots I needed for my Fly LAX video. Do you know about the plane spotting place I mentioned? The 8 level parking garage on Century BLVD next to the Radison Hotel. I will be glad to show you how to get there. Lare
