I've returned to this video to fix another leak again. This time I removed the water pipe, added some ptfe tape to a rubber gasket that was worn, tightened the jubilee clips and everything else. It's holding fast. Next service I will replace all gaskets and seals. Plumbers merchant for the seals. Had this is storage for the last 2 years

my Spa is still operational after 5 years. I pack it away in October and set it up around April. Still happy to answer any questions if you have an issue.

That sprung valve is a safety feature. You have a leak into the blower 1 way valve from the tub. That is sprung open so if you get a leak past the valve the water will not back flow through the air blower.

I have a small drip inside on the right side of the egg water coming out of the bottom ? I tightened everything now it's a little slower but still have a small leak ? I can't tell where it's coming from ??? I thin it's the seal on the intake valve ? Maybe plumbers tape??

It's definitely a small leak I can hear a slight drip inside the unit ? Gotta be on the bottom of egg ?? When I did a flush I didn't see any noticeable leaks ?? Weird

Aware you posted 5 years ago, but I THINK this is my problem now- once up and running after about 10 minutes it leaks at the base, I’ve identified that it leaks from the sprung valve. Am I right that this is exactly what it should do, and I’m actually getting water coming in from the tub through the ‘1 way valve’ where it shouldn’t, and as that water builds it’s triggering the safety and hence the leak after a while? Looks like I have to replace that 1 way valve then!

I've got the same problem when I put my hose in the is coming out via the 4 holes where the actual clips are on the valve

So what did u actually do to the valve????
@blackcyclist4 жыл бұрын
@@shaunmason3742 that valve isn't part of the leak. I didn't touch it other than tightened all screws. You most likely need to change the rubber seal from the other connector. It's really flat. Take it to any plumbers merchant and they will match one up for you. Good luck.

There are 2 non return valves in the blower pipe the lower one gets heated by the water and hardens turns white on the edge it should be to touch feel almost like sticky which forms the seal the bottom valve is open to let water out when it gets past this seal! the top non return valve seal should be almost like new you can swap them around until u can get a replacement . the seal in the liner connection pipe is there only to stop water coming out when you disconnect your pump then you can screw on your cap. i also sell parts and repair these pumps any questions drop us message.

I am looking for the replacement rubber components for the non return valves on my spa and noticed that you sell these parts. Could you let me know a price and shipping cost? I might also need to replace the seal in my liner as it is leaking also.

No its the check valve....These is no water and air mix...the big fitting is just an air blower....but water must be stopped and checked so it does not back up into the blower...it has two scupper valves which go bad...good luck ... I have fixed 3 of these egg pumps

Wrong valve pal....non return valve on tub is nackerd
@ThePlexman5 жыл бұрын
Common failure point on these is the flapper valve in the liner that connects to the air blower tube labelled C, this is supposed to allow the air from the blower in to the ring for bubbles and prevent it leaking back in to the pump, however lay z spa have used some crap material for this valve and it can degrade beyond useless in less than a year, the only way to fix it is to replace the liner, absolute crap design
@trevormercier90744 жыл бұрын
No need to replace the liner. The black flat round rubber plate coming from the liner end is a none return valve. All you do is add a bolt and screw to it instead of the rubber fitting and put it back on. Its water leaking from the liner air connection up the air pipe for bubbles instead of sealing it when bubbles are turned off.
@dmdOman4 жыл бұрын
Trevor Mercier Hi. It seems you understand how to fix this problem but I don’t quite follow you here. Any chance you can include a coulple pics or a video? I have the exact problem as in this video. The tub itself also loses air as soon as I reconnect the motor.
@trevormercier90744 жыл бұрын
@@dmdOman Ii should have done a video but didnt think to. On the liner side where the air blows in theres a round flat none return which crumbles up after a year. All I did was cut one out the same size from a Wellington boot which lasts forever. I put a small nut and bolt through the middle of it to hold. About a 1 inch or 2 long bolt with nut to hold it onto the liner side. Its lasted the whole time. You must have a leak in the liner if its deflating still as taking the cap off the blower on liner wouldn't deflate it. Will try to get some sort of a photo to show you. The tricky bit was getting the bolt through the small hole facing out of the liner end. I used thin wire around the bolt and fed it through the small hole on the liner side airflow hole. These none return valves all break up in 2 years so thats why using a Wellington boot cut the same size works brilliantly
@trevormercier90744 жыл бұрын
@@dmdOman remember to after using the bubbles you'll always get a very small amount of water coming out until the none return valve closes over by the water pressure again. Let me know how you get on and i will try get a diagram to make it easier. I did another hot tub over a year ago and its still working 100%. Good Wellington boot rubber won't break down like the lazy spa rubbish.
@trevormercier90744 жыл бұрын
@@dmdOman Forgot to say the bolt and nut goes through the diy none return valve you make from the Wellington boot rubber. Stick a washer on it so it holds. Dont over tighten the nut either as its meant to go back in and with water pressure after the bubbles.
