Yep, if I get to a door before someone else I'll hold it, if someone follows me through, I'll hold the door, it's common courtesy to either sex, or one of those things that identify as something else. If a woman moaned at me for holding the door I would wait for her to leave a shop and shut it in her face.

I have posted this before. I once held a door open for a woman as I entered a store ,she told me in a loud voice that she was more than capable of doing it herself. Amazingly on my way out, I was again going through the door with her behind me laden with bags. As she was about to come through expecting me to hold it open ,I let the door close. The look of anger on her face was priceless, petty i know but very satisfying!

There was a feminist on a morning show who believed men holding a door for a woman is a form of control on the man's part. Somebody I was chatting to once who told me he held a door open and she went off at him. I prefer a traditional manly man, they are stronger, more caring etc. Opening doors is good manners, it's not that a woman can't open a door by herself, it's just polite to open a door for someone & not let it slam in their face or would these feminists prefer that?, plus women should open doors in return also good manner & polite. Modern feminism is the worst thing to happen to modern women, I absolutely agree feminism has gone way to far in an extremely toxic way.

@@Th3_Gael How do you know? Do you know this person and how she actually feels. Spoken like a true MGTOW zealot, which I consider to be the male equivalent of feminism in terms of toxicity and being very judgemental against people they don't know or undertsand. I get that it's hard for a man to know exactly what to say or do for a woman these days since a lot of them have been sold feminist lies but to accuse *EVERY* woman of being like that is stupid and shows your lack of awareness. Not all of us fell for those lies and still love it when men show us good manners etc.

My friend worked in a bookshop. One of his colleagues, a butch feminist type, was trying to get through the door with a big handful of books. Laylah is absolutely correct, we definitely need strong men, gentlemen are in short supply now , I bought my boys up in conjunction with their dad even through we divorced we agreed to live no more than a mile apart to make us both always available to them , we let them do boys things, fight, climb , learn mechanics, go to the gym, my youngest (21) was a competing dead lifter until he suffered a knee injury, he is now trying to get back to strength around his other responsibilities like work and his fiancée. We need to encouraging our boys to be strong, logic thinking, individuals to channel their energy in a productive way definitely not chastise them for it. I see plenty of Toxic Mysandry not the Toxic Masculinity the feminists go on about. Feminism has run its course as it is now becoming destructive which is why fewer and fewer women will call themselves a feminist.

Modern society lacks rites of passage & the associated training for young boys in their transformation into men. These were, and are standard fare for tribal societies. The associated training gave the young men an objective to aim for & targets to achieve. They became warriors who hunted & provided for society & defended against attack. A career in the military echoes those ancient values. Alas, destructive wokist values are seeding even there.

Toxic masculinity is a very real problem in today's society which is very different to true masculinity. I don't think Heilpern understands it. Trying to say toxic masculinity isn't a problem certainly plays right into the hands of feminists.

I open doors for my wife, pay for dinner, cook her dinners,do her washing, paint her nails, dye, curl her hair, help her with tech, sew her favourite damaged clothes. She also has my pension to run the house plus rent from another house. I have no problems helping her and she likes my help. Fair play to feminists and equal rights but as with anything there's the individual right to decide and the few do not override the masses by bullying just to suit their narrative

It’s tragic that GBN only highlight the plight men and young boys face…. When spoken from the mouth of a female. Boys and men have been second class citizens in the west for a decade already, we are still the bottom of the pile, end of the queue when assistance and help is being distributed, most suicide victims, most of the homeless, most affected by violence and homicide, less likely to finish school, complete university… most likely to fail due to alcoholism and drug dependency….. most likely to be killed in industrial accidents….. and we now make up 35% of all domestic violence victims!! “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times….. good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times”

@@juliad368 men and women doing the same job tend to get the same pay, but in the vast majority of instances men out EARN women, and for good reason. Women who make the same career choices as men, usually end up earning more than their male counterparts, well documented in many professions. If the issues mentioned, all of which can be conformed as true, don’t show men and boys are in crisis, then what does? To compare the stats in question with women doing most chores at home, is a nonsense….. I suspect you have a lot of that in your life to have even consider it as being worthy of mention in your post. “Boohoo men”…… says it all, I hope all the men in your life are strong and well, as it would seem you have little empathy to share should they need it……. A reflection of the point I made in my original post regarding men being “lesser”……..yet I bet you’d be the first to complain about 3rd wave feminists “woman’s issues”

I always oblige and hold open doors for men women boys and girls but the sad thing is less than a 3rd of the people actually thank me for doing so. It’s not that I expect a thank you for doing it in the first place but the sad fact is in this day and age there is no respect or courtesy and old fashion values are a thing of the past. Adults around 20/30 years old with kids now a days do not teach their children to have respect or show any form of maturity but instead want to look cool/trendy and think it’s funny to be a prat and show off rather than acting there age and be an actual adult and grown up. This is the problem with society now a days. Too many parents who think they are younger than they are and won’t grow up and so teach there kids the same behaviour

Totally agree. I'm 44 now and was raised by "boomer" parents but they taught me about discipline respecting older folk and hard work. My cool trendy days are well over but some of the parents at the school gates(mostly mother's tbh!) think it's a fashion show and are too busy trying to be cool and with it! They're so vacuous its untrue!

It's bollox and no one is falling for it. I always make sure I HOLD the door open for the person that is following me, no matter who they are. I don't run forward to creepily hold a door open for a woman 😂 I am turning into an old fart when I used to be so fit and virile. A young girl on a bus I was on asked me if I wanted her seat bless her. It is only out of respect that you would consider the next person. It is not chivalry, it is being nothing more than thoughtful. If you don't want someone to acknowledge you, then take it and if you are insulted by the kindness, you are so very sad so please only go out when no one else is around. You are disgusting and we don't need you.
