Most of the people who are still in South Africa, cannot leave even if they wanted to.
@figurecollector823 жыл бұрын
@Charles van Onselen, you're 100% correct. In fact, it's the most heartbreaking hurdle, knowing that as a South African who wants to immigrate to another country to work hard and add value to that country which isn't your birthplace, you still can't get in there. You face astronomic challenges when it comes to affording plane tickets to get there, Visa costs, settlement fees, having enough money to support your stay until you can find work, plus foreign employers, especially in Asia and even in countries like Canada and some European countries, discriminate against hiring South Africans instead of AMERICANS or British citizens. It's a nightmare for South Africans to leave the country, especially because so many are heavily indebted, due to having to take so much credit, sometimes just to keep up with the astronomical cost of living in South Africa these days. It's like being caught between the rock and the proverbial hard place.

@@ziomudru it pisses me off to see people spread falsehoods… to what end? Honestly, how can you compare South Africa to any country in the world? There’s none like it! It’s the only country in Africa that never ejected the settlers (& Namibia) after colonization! Of course things will be very different and difficult to navigate. America, NZ, Canada, Australia all had majority Caucasian population when they supplanted the natives they found in their respective regions and they’ve been a majority ever since and will continue to be for at least a couple of generations 🤷🏿♂️

@@sam3407 the common factors is racially-based discriminatory habits,habits which become practices,regulations,then laws. I know a little about south africa's 20th century history, enough to know that it wasnt one big happy family,with the majority of the population being politically and econonically oppressed. Now somehow the world wide trend is to make up for past oppression by twisting around the same racially (or gender) based discrimination. Which in my view is very racist still. Parlaments have gender quotas, companies have racial quotas for promotions. All in the name of diversity, for me this is all one big sexist racist game , killing meritocracy in the name of pseudo equality. I think the problem isn't that you can't change people's identities through establishing a state. It is that you cannot change peoples' cultural perspectives by telling them to abandon hundreds or thousands of years of tribalism. The problem in South Africa is that most of the African population have an allegiance with their tribe (Zulu, Xhosa, etc) and not with their country. The Boer and English settlers beat the tribes, but didn't defeat them nor did they transfer European cultural values... and were and are outnumbered by them. Just as Zimbabwe came from Rhodesia, the same thing will happen in South Africa... tribal totalitarian government that imposes a Marxist dictatorship as a shield for tribalism. Tribal factions represent factions in the ANC, and ANC activists have been riling their supporters up to create this ungovernable unrest. The lesson here, as the liberal West has learned across the Developing Wold since the 1950s, is that it took the West 600 years to rise above barbarism and we've barely done it... so why do we expect others to move more quickly?
