Layered Legacies: Painting Abstract Florals in Mixed Media Journals

In this video, I dive into creating an abstract floral spread in one of my handmade art journals from the Layered Legacies: Mixed Media Art Journals workshop. This workshop focuses on crafting beautiful fabric covers, both sewn and glued, using treasured fabrics. I work on a watercolor paper spread, inspired by a color palette drawn from the lovely handmade paper on the facing page, featuring shades of brown, white, and blue/gray. I have some watercolor paintings in handmade books that my great-grandfather made in the 1890's. I never got to meet him, but I have something that he created which has lived beyond him. Someday I will gift them to his great-great-grandchildren. Just think how cool it would be for your descendants to have an art journal that you made with your very own hands. 😊

Denise the journals looked really amazing,Fabric covering gives a whole new look,vintage in feel,I loved the green one and the way you created a closure with a button,something I will look at when I'm making my next cache of handmade sketchbooks. Each class is a separate class. I go over start to finish each journal I make in each class. You can make several journals in each class. I was just super inspired and kept having more ideas.
