I would love to see a DYI on cutting your own layers. I have naturally curly hair and have been cutting it myself for years. Thank you!

Would love to see this diy. Always find it really hard to get the right angles myself to keep front layers long without thinning sides out too much

I love your videos, I've learned so much watching you. My hair currently is very boring, it's usually up in a ponytail, summer humidity and all, (my hair does nothing). I might get it cut come fall. Thank you Jake for all of the great ideas. And yeah..cut that hair! Cheers

I wish I could show you the haircut I gave myself off your 2 part shag video, I look fabulous if I do say myself! I’ve got layers in the back that brought out unknown curls! No ponytail ! I followed your directions and love the results. Thank you for your videos and yes a DIY on this would be great!

Hey Jake, quick question for you. I don't remember if you address this in any of your other videos but is it okay to cut your hair dry?

I'm 55 and I've always said I'd always keep my long hair, but it's getting thinner and drier and looks awful, so I'm going to take the plunge and follow one of your shag vids. I'm an 80s girl, so no twinset and pearls for me. I have no intention of growing old 'gracefully'. I love this cut, but I think with mine being stupidly curly, I'm likely to look like a microphone once I take the weight out of the top, haha, so I'm off to find one of your long shag cut videos. 💗

Jake does a beautiful job cutting the model 's head in a layered cut. Can Sisterlocks be cut that way? I would love my Sisterlocks cut in a sassy layer cut for a 65 year old woman... 11/24/24. Thank you Jake😊

I've always loved, loved layers. But it seems many stylist have struggles knowing how to do the cut beautiful.

Love the channel. I would love to see cuts on mannequins with differently shaped heads, not the usual mannequin shaped heads, I feel they are "perfect": I would love to see cuts on different shaped heads with different type of hair and the various combos of problems. I don't want to be a negative Nelly, especially because your channel is super positive and optimistic and does uplift the heart, but I can't help thinking well of course any cut or style will look great on a mannequin with a great skull shape and even waves or curls (wavy all over not just wave in some places and straight in the crown for example), and great direction of hair growth, and also is healthy and not damaged. We can have unfortunate direction of hair growth that goes flat and doesn't allow volume in any direction because it keeps going to it's natural resting place, we can have a skull that is flat at the crown and don't get that lovely head shape that lends to hair that looks great with a volume cut. We can have a large head, an uneven head due to injury or birth, a scar where there is no hair creating an unwanted part, thinning in crown, thinning around face, unruly poofy hair, or super thin hair, or worse: the basset hound ears where the sides are thicker and fuller than the rest which is flat and has no root growth volume, so it appears like furry dog ears hanging around the face, creating a profile that is not as attractive as your mannequins. We can have a double chin, a strong nose, a weak chin, so our profiles do not look as nice as the mennequins. I find the mannequins from every channel are "perfect" specimens of women. They aren't fat or anorexic, or have any of the above described problems we have. ( There is also post chemo hair problems that involve hats, scarves, extensions, wigs, etc. and that is beyond hair cutting so it's understandable if that's best left to another channel who is specifically geared to that.) (there are also other issues like skin tone, rosacea or acne that change the colour - also perhaps for another channel. I don't know if a certain cut looks better or worse with a certain colour. Like a sharp bob on someone with certain skin and contrasting hair colour... etc.) Thank you for your great channel. I am confident you can do anything and fix any problem.
